Comic Report #90.1 - Here We Are

Hello again!  I've got the textless version of this page ready for you. There's not a whole lot of text to type on this one but somehow I don't think it's the words people are anticipating about it.  This is a Thursday night update so I'm not sure how much I can hammer out for a Friday work report, so I might not have anything to share then- I hope these images above can suffice on their own this week.

Last week I had the color part finished, but since then I decided to add a glow effect around the inside of that panel border.  I think it adds a little bit to the brightness of the panel, but it's on its own separate layer so if I retroactively decide I don't like it it's easy to change or remove.  But for now it's there and that's how the page is going to ship.

Following up on that note, since the big kiss was a brighter panel I thought about how to paint the little kiss, and I decided to make that panel a little bit brighter to match, like a second little spark of light.  I think it's cute.

This story arc has been running for about, ohh, thirteen years?  So it feels nice to finally tie these two off like that. It feels like the end of a big loop. It's not the end of the comic yet, but this does mean they will be exploring the rest of the story together, so their usual dynamic might shine a little bolder now. It's nice.

I'm gonna get back to getting this thing wrapped up. I've only got like two sentences to write but I do gotta think about what they are gonna be before they get interrupted, so I'll leave this here for now.  Thank you, as always, for your support of my work. It's been a very long road but I'm glad you have joined me in walking it.  Until next time, take care.

Alice be like "just stfu and kiss me"

Chiron Auva

I think I was too subtle for a while, this recent arc was really making sure it was absolutely unambiguous.

Wow, I’ve been rereading it all from the scenes in Alice’s flashback and, uh, talk about not seeing what’s in front of you, it was years ago, but man, I must’ve been really desensitized to romance back then. Seeing all the breadcrumbs along the path for the first time has made reaching this point all the more sweet.
