Comic Report #91.2 - Aaaalmost There

I'd hoped to have this page finished by today but it seems I just didn't have it in me. I've been pushing hard on work since August and I might just be a little bit tired, but I am excited to be very close to the end of this chapter.  I have a three-page intermission run planned which I expect to be able to finish before the end of the year.  I'm thinking about how to approach the intermission pages- I can definitely have them drawn and inked in one week cycle, but I'll probably just post the textless versions when they're done and then have them queued up to post on that Friday or Saturday.  Posting might be a little odd throughout December but I still want to honor giving this group first-look at all my work.

For this current page, I think part of the slowdown has been just how intertwined the characters have been to draw.  When they're leaning together like that it's like drawing a double person with twice the details- when I tend to lay out a page I'll often not overlap characters when I don't have to, that's been a weird brain thing of mine for a while, and it's part of why I don't overlap word balloons on top of characters when I can avoid it.  So drawing these two together has been a bit more effort than I anticipated, but I think the effort is worthwhile, because look at them. They're so happy.

Since I just have the backgrounds to paint I expect I can have this page finished tomorrow night, so I'll probably be posting the textless version very shortly.  I am struggling a bit with what else to comment on for this page so I'm gonna just post it and get back to work, the finish line is so close and then this whole scene will just be wrapped up in the archives forever.  Thank you for your patience and kind words during this arc, it's been really encouraging to see people respond to these past few pages.  There's just one more to go, and it's almost ready, so I'll be back in a few to share it with you.
