Hello! Here's the textless version of the next comic page for you. This will be going up tomorrow, so later tonight I'll be trying to pencil the next page to post on here for you as well.
Inking this page has been a real challenge. I like to do these pages in black & white so I have something a bit easier to work with, but then I went and decided, hey, I can set this scene inside a movie theater, neglecting to consider how many seats I'd have to draw. I just sorta winged it with seat numbers here, but I also have another interesting problem on my hands. Due to how much black is used to represent a dark theater, the lines between panel paragraphs get kinda lost, I'm mostly relying on the contrast between the white bottom of a panel and the black top of the adjacent panel. When I hang word balloons they will have to be arranged to help guide the reader through these panels.
Originally, like last week I think, I said I wanted to put a Guy Richie movie on the big screen. I'd thought a lot about what would be iconic and recognizable and also something I'd feel confident in including- the Pythons have been referenced in the comic in the past but a few of them are sort of embarrassing these days so they're out. I really like The Fifth Element, and I think there's a good writing angle using that film I can make use of. Plus this shot of Milla Jovovich and Bruce Willis was really fun to draw expressions on.
That's it for now. I'll be back with more to share tomorrow. Until then, take it easy and thanks for reading!
