Hello, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! This week I did a bit of work, but I also wanted to rest for the holidays, so I'm just going to post my minicomics, since I could spend all day typing up about the main comic page. I made progress on it- inking and flatting it- but I'll have more progress to share next week. Today, though, I have three new minis to share with you, so I hope that will be a nice gift for your holidays!

#043: There's always something special about restaurant booth small talk, this cozy little space where you can examine the real issues. Whenever I draw scenes in this diner booth I always remember I gotta draw this big mirror with the carp and water lilies painted on it, which always has me going back into my archives to remember the specific arrangement. Spaghetti and Meatballs wasn't always on the menu at the Jade Garden, but Lee is happy to include it just for Lou.

#044: This one draws back to the minicomic idea of being "a comic about a game about a comic". Lizzie's outfit is familiar, being her dream-self, so I wanted to design similar dream fantasy outfits for everyone else as well- Lou's outfit being an exception as he is just wearing an exact Roman armor set and he's delighted for the opportunity! Also, due to the nature of the game we're making being a lot of 2D sprites it isn't really possible to include DLC costumes, which are very popular in 3D games. I thought it would be a fun joke to be like, well, we'd love to include DLC outfits but it makes Frank upset when the crew shows up dressed like tabletop characters.

#045: In my comic notes I have a couple ideas where Stacy has some one- or two-panel low-impact encounter with someone and it's padded out and framed like a TV show. That's "Stacy Adventures" and in my head it's extremely funny. Last time Stacy Adventures was set between an intro and outro title card, but today there's a commercial break in the middle of the strip. Can you hear the music in your head? Anyways, that whole pack of clean socks Lizzie and Alice looted from a cop have gone missing, can you spot where they went? It's a real mystery on today's Stacy Adventures.
That's it for today's update! It's a fun little batch today, I hope it can help brighten your Holiday week. Thank you for supporting my work throughout a tough year. I should have a new comic page to share before the year is done, so keep an eye out for that! Until next week, take care and have a safe and restful week. I think we've all earned as much.
