Here's the textless version of this page for you to read! On Friday I said there was a topic about the page I forgot that I wanted to talk about, but I remembered what it is, so I'm going to type up a quick paragraph about that and then get to lettering.
Somewhere along the way I started using a new technique for painting human faces. For a bit of the comic I would shade faces the same way I shaded clothes or objects, casting shadows like solid structures, but I've started giving faces a glow around the outside edges of the head. I started doing this because human skin is translucent, and light hits it differently from hair or clothes or brick or pavement, so giving it a different texture helps the people inside of equipment pop out from the world around them, and gives human figures more life. It's a small thing but I wanted to point it out for you.
This has been a real devil of a page to trudge through following a covid vaccine, all the backgrounds and crowds all on one page during this exact weekend of all weekends really put up a challenge, but I got through it! I'm gonna top off the page with some dialogue and get this one in the bag so I can begin working on the next scene, which I'm excited about. Thank you for your kind support! I'll have more to share with you on Friday. Until then, take care.
