Comic Report #99.3 - All Caught Up

Here is the textless page, at last! This one has been a real slog, but I'm happy to finally almost be through it. I'm gonna keep this one quick because I want to just letter this and get it done and posted.

One of two details I've included here: when Monday was introduced in the comic he was quoting movies, but as his character evolved and fleshed out he became a lot more reserved and stoic. When he confronted the rest of this squad in the alley behind the bar at the start of the comic he was quoting Dolemite specifically, so in this page I thought it might tie the big loop together a bit more cleanly if the movie he was literally watching the moment the hit was attempted on him was the 1975 original Dolemite, so you can see Rudy Ray Moore's elbow on the screen there.

Second detail: decorating his apartment with masks kinda made the last shot here hit a bit different. Having the oni mask there in what would otherwise have been dead space gives his scrambling counterattack a bit more of a feeling like this is dangerous game these boys are hunting. It was fun to paint it and, again, I think Monday would totally collect those kinds of curios.

Anyways that's it for now. The text shouldn't take too long since this is literally just the dialogue from page 36 again, but it should be up shortly.
