2023-09-18 22:57:45 +0000 UTCNow that they are starting to use Unity, there's a lot of things they can potentially do. Combining Earth Manipulation and Water Manipulation is just the first step. They have a Cold Mage, a couple Fire Mages, two Nature Mages, an Air Mage and an Arcane Mage. Add in Val and everyone can work under Transparency. They could excavate tunnels into the depths in search for a ranked biome with untouched lairs. And that's not even touching on what their crafters can accomplish together. Rain can grab Tarny and use Spring and Fall with his own metamagics. They could capture some of those regenerating swamp hog monsters, cut some meat off and then blast them with Summer for a near-limitless source of protein for Ascension.

I imagine it's possible to make a variable-weight enchantment, so they can stay on the ground with empty cargo space. That's otherwise one of the hard parts with airships. They need an Illuminator to make a camouflage enchantment for the Inconceivable. I guess currently if it's beneath a tree canopy, it just looks like a lake, because it reflects the sky, but still... Ideally they'd have several configurations: a copse of trees, a big rock, a cloud, and something awe-inspiring like a giant fireball, for when they want to make an impression. I think the Mk II could be a flying city, Castle-Wulfenbach-style. Just pack in all of Ascension, and they could change their base location every month. They could make a fortune just by trading. The rank lowers as you go up, too, so they could anchor in a high-rank area, and a few hundred meters up it'd still be rank zero...

That was the funniest bit of the chapter when I re-read it. Rain's probably going to bring up birthdays again in 100 chapters time, after having forgotten again.
