I think there are some really smart and brave young people ! A lot of their thought’s are about fairness in the world! Which is a good place to start !

When I read this piece, the world stands still.

I’m glad you liked it!I believe an important thing is to listen with interest, to what they say. It was just something I did, but didn’t know it wasn’t the norm. While eating lunch with my grandchildren one day, one of them told me I was his favorite grandparent. I asked him why and he said “because you talk to us, and you listen to us.” When I was a kid, the family ate meals together. That’s a custom I carried forward. I think doing that is our chance to connect after a busy day.

Wow. I can't tell you how much I needed this poem/thought. This is the hardest thing for me to do right now. I try very much to give my children space to be who they are. And--sometimes I am up in the night (like tonight) worrying that their thoughts are taking them in a direction that I don't necessarily feel good about. A lot of wisdom in this poem. Letting go. Having confidence. Trying to feel I taught them the best I could and now it's time to stand back and let them be adults, dealing with their world. Thanks a lot for posting. Your grasp on this is probably why your children are the amazing people they are. What a gift to them.

I love Khalil Gibran... but to cut to the bone of it, which obviously need (we generally). We ALL bleed red. I have never understood how this wasn't obvious

I have 9 grandchildren, ages from 15 to 32. They are all brilliant and all of them except one will be voting in November. When they rip a trump supporter that gets nasty with the fam on Facebook, they do the work to make sure they are factual and articulate. I’m pretty excited about the younger generations. Smart as whips they are! I would like to see you do a video on the importance of listening, really listening, to our kids. Respect begets respect. How can we teach them to be good citizens if we haven’t taught them how to listen? Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. by Khalil Gibran

On a different note and for future episodes... I think your channel would be most effective if you were to get the ear of the conservative oriented audiences. Let me say I love your headings, which are Lovely, and masterfully cloaked. To Attract those with opposing views , you may want to consider evoking terms including “Trump .... religious right ... gun legislation... born again.... life of the unborn against those already born. You know how to flip these turn over their heads. Just a thought:)))

I don't know why but even though I am logged into both Patreon and Google, YouTube is saying this video is private.

Education! Times are different, easier in some ways, perhaps less physical hardship, but more complex in all other aspects. It’s not easy for kids to be decisive or to be firmly rooted like young adults of the past. Life is changing by the day if not by the hour. Our education needs to catch up with the changing landscape. Instead of emphasizing trade schools, we need more leaders and thinkers

Wouldn't most of the founders also have been considered the "elitists" of their day? Something that is often spoken as if it is a slur by many on the Right today?

Ron Floyd

well.. i'm thinking 20 to 25 was also considered middle age back then wasn't it?

Let's not forget that the internet age means information is more readily available. In the days of the founding fathers, it could take weeks or even months for important information to be sent, never mind simple things like requested research. Nowadays, everyone has the Library of Alexandria combined with the Baghdad House of Wisdom in their pocket and their query is instant. Let's not forget we created the atomic bomb before the television, in an era where radio was just starting to truly be efficient. Schooling gets more advanced with every generation, too, as any parent can attest to. Yes, our youths nowadays are naive and lack experience just like any generation of youths. PC culture and the oligarchy's war on the truth with their information campaigns may have led to our country becoming soft and convoluted, but the youths of this generation are more informed and have more knowledge at their fingertips than any generation passed, and we need to guide them in using this resource better rather than berating them for their research.

I'm not sure the problem is so much education overall as it is things like critical thinking. Not to mention the continued stigma against being interested in the sciences. It's okay to be a "Nerd" if you're into comic books or sci-fi, but Chemistry? Computer Sciences? Engineering? Nope. That's still putting a target on your back socially.

Audio seems to be Left channel only... Or rather the Right channel is much quieter than the Left channel.

Nikolay Semov

I don’t know if the youth of today is less educated. This generation is way more informed than mine was. They have more resources and there’s simply more information to know (more scientific advancements) than in our founders’ days.

WATCHED love content. Help these kids. Schools answer is by the paid version of Zoom. They need Discord. Zoom refuses to help see previous

need your help haven't watched video yet. Please advocate schools get Discord to replace zoom. Porn hacks. Parents freaking. Kids don't want to be forced to loose virtual local class. Discord is the answer. You HAVE the power. I am bombing with messages. Zoom is used nationwide its crap.

YES!! I love the kids today (I'm 60) and have a lot of friends who are millenials, and my 2 older kids are as well, the youngest is genZ. They take nothing for granted as it is handed down to them by their elders; not gender, not economics, not how to "earn a living," not really much of anything. I've learned so much from hanging around with them, and I've learned a lot of humility as I examine my life assumptions. I'd be happy to put them in charge. Of course at the moment, I have a banana peel in my compost that would make a better president, but you get my point.

This is dead on. It also raises the question of why the president has to be at least 35 years old.

Thanks Beau! As a father of 4 teenage daughters, my wife and I have believe it is important to supplement their established education. We’ve encouraged them to explore other viewpoints whether it’s in culture, religion, or politics. (Banned Books) They are their own person and deserve to be treated as such. We have a lot of confidence in their generation.

Absolutely. Every generation has its dipshits but they also have their time in history. My favorite thing about Harris as VP is she’ll be around when the “mustache Pete’s” of our Congress are long gone...

Sean Lantis

A-ho, brother!
