Hola Familia!

Again...this is coming later than I wanted it to. During my fall break, I had band rehearsals for our UIL competition today. We had a lot of cleaning to do for in our forms and music so there was a lot to do. Please forgive me!

Anyway, let's get to the good parts, right? 😊

BAND-MAID Sunday:

• "Letters to You"

  • I'm working my way through the album with you guys because I want to know your opinions on them. I cannot wait to share the experience of another song with you all!

PATREON Sunday:

• DADROMA - リズリーサーカス (Risley Circus)

  • I chose this one because of the thumbnail again. It looks bizarre but I like different, so I was ready to try this one out. I was informed by P in D that in Japanese music this is called, visual kei. Visual kei is a style...kind of like emo or goth, so you can imagine the kind of music and visuals this produced. I'm excited to check this out!

• Lake Street Drive - "You Go Down Smooth"

  • This is an all-time favorite band of Hebes and they have given me so great suggestions, so I had to check it out. If you've seen my Lawrence reactions, this may come pretty close to that style which makes me excited because I loved what I heard from them. I can't wait to jump into this one!

• BAND-MAID - "H-G-K"

  • As I sit here and type this out, I can't believe I am going to make it through my first BM album (Epic Narratives). That's crazy! The funny part, is I STILL haven't made it through the rest of their collection...so the journey continues with H-G-K! I found there were so many versions recorded so you know I have to explore each and every corner. Of course we have to start with original album version, then we will jump into the 2024 Day of Maid version from the new Epic Narratives Blu-Ray, we will travel over to PRIME to do the Christmas acoustic...and FINALLY we will look at the instrumental version! Phew! That's a lot, but it's gonna be FUN!

Marching season is coming to a close and I am excited and a little sad about it. It's a lot of work and time, but I love the season and how much camaraderie it builds between the students. As soon as marching season is over, I will be more vocal and active. I apologize for being so silent! Teaching is really important to me and it's important to help shape these students lives to enjoy and perform music to it's highest level.
