TRiDENT - "Spoopy"

I finally remembered what song I reacted to a LONG time ago. It was "Voltage."

That being said, this isn't the older TRiDENT I remember.

Given the context of the video, this seems like a big change for them in style and I really enjoy what they have going on.

I'm a sucker for electronic progressive rock!

For me this has just the right amount of digital to fill out the sound and add some ear candy to the analogue instruments - otherwise generally I find a 3 piece too thin sounding (I'm usually out unless there's a keyboard)

My vote to Ambivalent for your YT channel!☝️

So my thought that you would find the song somewhat interesting wasn't so wrong. :) I know not everyone is a fan of these digital sounds, but despite their presence in this song, I was pretty sure that you would recognize what is going on next to them. And I think that's pretty impressive for a three-piece band. And it should also be mentioned that not all of their songs are so heavily built on electronic elements. 'Ambivalent' has already been mentioned, 'Continue' is my favorite of theirs, 'Cry Out' in its live version from a month ago, or even in the MV for 'Kickass', the ladies do the song title justice. 🤘🏻 I like quite a few of their songs in my playlist for a bit of contrast/variety. And all 3 of the ladies, like basically all Japanese musicians, are beautiful beasts with and on their instruments. :)

Not one of my favorite TRiDENT songs, but they have a song called Twinkle that starts out “Twinkle, twinkle little star…”. Also I second the recommendation for “Ambivalent”.

You listened to TRiDENT with JUNNA - VOLTAGE. They WERE a different band in that era. I recently heard another popular reactor critique this TRiDENT song and I will write the same thing here “To me this was the song that cemented Nagisa as JUNNA's replacement. Both JUNNA (now with HAGANE) and TRiDENT are in a better place as a result.” After JUNNA left, the band proved they could still write and perform a hit song with Ambivalent, but Spoopy is just driven by relentless drums. I don’t think anyone wants Nagisa to be a JUNNA clone but she comes close here … while making it her own. Not to take anything away from Asaka who gives one of her best guitar and vocal performances in this song. Serina kind of lays back here as she carried the band with the release of Ambivalent. Some speculate that the band does not have a bigger following due to all the backing tracks and effects they use but ... It is hard to believe that all this noise comes from a 3 piece band. Like many I started following the band simply knowing JUNNA was a part of it as the girls all met in school. I think we were all a little nervous when she left but TRiDENT has blossomed into a unique powerhouse that simply makes a lot of really enjoyable music. You do not yet have a TRiDENT reaction on YouTube. I would suggest Ambivalent before you dive into their more recent stuff.
