BRIDEAR - "Bloody Bride"

A bride that was suduced by the devil himself? Sounds sexy for Halloween, no?

It took me so long to think about what I wanted to talk about in regards to the style I was hearing, but after a while it clicked!

This is super cool because it sounds like 80's hair metal with a new age twist. If you were a fan of hair metal bands growing up or found joy in them at some point in your life like I did, then you will enjoy this song/group!

This video was my introduction to Bridear as well. I haven't looked back since. They're a great rock band and they're new material is straight fire.

I second everything said above. However, I would recommend checking out the newer MVs. The musicianship and chemistry of the current bamd is great to see. I really hope this lineup will be stable. Still Burning (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v7UOTBAtJh0&pp=ygUVYnJpZGVhciBzdGlsbCBidXJuaW5n) is a good starting place for the current band. And, yeah, Haru, the bassist, is a little gem - wait until you see an MV where she growls.

BRIDEAR as a band has been through a lot … Formed initially in 2011 they have been through several member and even sound changes as bandmates cycled through. Kimi (my cyber crush) on vocals and tiny little Haru on bass are the only original members left. Haru, while always sporting a bow bigger than she is on the headstock of her bass, has also taken on screaming and growling duties which is fun to watch just due to her size. The BRIDEAR trademark has always been the dual lead guitars even through the differing iterations. In this version for Bloody Bride Ayumi is shown with Misaki - who went on medical leave in June of 2022 and was eventually replaced by Moe. The 2 current guitarists can also be seen performing as the “SukiYaki sisters” (they are PHENOMINAL! ) as they do all kinds of great guitar covers on YouTube. Lastly, NittPicc should recognize the drummer from an old reaction 😉 . Natsumi was previously with TELECiDE, the band that imploded due to all of the infighting, but has happily found a home here. She is a fragile soul overly concerned with her physical fitness when it comes to playing. She beats the crap out of those drums while looking like she is petting a cat (<<< Halloween theme ;) ). With this album Kimi has tried to perform in English … and since this was released in May of 2021 her performance and pronunciation has improved GREATLY! She has worked INCREDIBLY HARD and nearly all of the new material is in English. I think that has to do with the fact that during the recent era the bands promoter was in the UK - Setsuzoku Records (a relationship recently ended ... I always thought they did more harm than good but the addition of English really helped). From previous band iterations the songs Ignite and Ghoul are some of my favorites. The epic 7 minute long song Brave New World Revisited is about exiting COVID and the lockdowns ... and how everything is now different. This band has always had dark themes and heavy music. They were actually the first I remember touring after the pandemic and toured the EU extensively. They have announced a US performance for 2025 at the Mad With Power festival in Madison, Wisconsin on June 6–7. I am really hoping they add more shows as I have followed them for a while waiting to see them live ... and I won't do any festivals. There was a tour arranged in 2022 with FAKESTAR but it had to be abandon due to vaccination and passport restrictions. The tour and arrangements were gifted to none other than Rolling Quartz who I went to see in Chicago when they visited courtesy of BRIDEAR. Officially the genre listed on the interwebs is "Power Metal" ... so yeah.
