Hitsujibungaku - more than words

I'm going to keep this short because I have to be up in 2 hours to be on a bus to San Antonio.
This song is making me really curious about what Jujutsu Kaisen is about because of how lovely this song is. The tuning is just absolutely pure.
I've only listened to a couple of tracks from them but every time I do I am reminded that I need to listen to more

When it’s time for you to peruse more Sheep Literature, I would suggest something on the heavier (aka shoegaze) side of their catalog…

Burning (also from an anime)

Then maybe swing back for some light reading (jangly, dream pop)…

The indie/alternative scene in Japan doesn’t get the attention in the West that it deserves.
It may not be as flashy, loud, fast or complex as the metal and pop acts that are gaining popularity overseas, but musical subtleties and good song writing are beautiful things in and of themselves.
On that note, I would suggest reacting to the band Shishamo. They have been around as long as Band-Maid and seem equally as popular in Japan…

Also, my anime suggestion…Bocchi the Rock. No English dubbed version (yet), so you will have to deal with reading subtitles. But, for musicians, definitely a must watch!

Excellent! They are two girls and a boy. Moeka Shiotsuka (vocals, guitar and composition), Yurika Kasai (bass) and Hiroa Fukuda (male, drums, you will never see their eyes!). They have been active since about 2015 (since 2018 with the current line-up). They define themselves as alternative rock (in the wake of British shoegaze of the 80s, U2, Smashing Pumpkins, REM...). This song was the trigger they needed to take a big step forward (the anime Jujutsu Kaisen has a huge pull). Their music is crystal clear and very well crafted, I think they are a band you would enjoy, of course the voices are their strong point and the melodies are usually memorable. Thanks señorita!
