Not only revenge for the heart, but revenge for the musician. The maids killed it in this song! Especially our bass queen MISA!
I was taken by the unison guitar lines and unique use of rhythm. I guess the speed was so fast that I wasn't able to catch the real rhythm. I love finding out what they are actually playing from the score!

2025-01-09 11:15:33 +0000 UTCThere are many aspects of this song, MISA's relentless bass line, Kanami's insane sole, Saiki's awesome vocals, Akane's punishing drum lines, that make this one of my favorite Band-Maid songs. But one thing in particular that makes this song so special for me is Miku's vocal interjections - the oohs and aahs, the harmonies, but especially the extra vocal lines under Saiki's lines. They add so much to the song. Without them, it would be a totally different sounding song.

But when MISA was well again, BAND-MAID redone these two shows with her, and called it "Revenge of Ass-Chin" (cause MISA has a dimple in her chin). Maid in Japan was their first album and it's more like what the record company expected from them, a slightly more digestible pop punk with idol imagery. It's an excellent starting point to see how much they've grown over the years. The distance between that album and Epic Narratives can be measured in astronomical units. I still seek revenge is the song that alone explains why MISA stayed in Band Maid and why there's no other band better for her. Kanami's compositions fit her like a glove.
