VOLA - Paper Wolf

I had no expectations going into this reaction and I was extremely pleased.

VOLA was a fun band to be introduced to. Their description of their sound was 100% accurate.

The constant wall of sound coming at your ears is pleasing along with the stadium style vocals. The use of electronics was used in such a lovely way as well. The use of major and minor tonalities was cool as well!

I am definitely going to want to check out this band more!

Eyyy thank you so much for picking up my suggestion, it really made my day :) I actually only discovered them within the last year or so, but they've really made an impression on me. As you touched on, they're not really doing anything particularly flashy. Their songs occasionally have small melodic solos, but never any shredding. To me they're so much more about capturing a mood and creating a soundscape. The play with unusual and/or unexpected tonality, and time feel/signature (more so in some other songs). I was going to mention that they're touring the US in the spring, but you've already spotted that so yeah - I hope that you'll listen to them some more, even just in your own time, and be inclined to go if you have the opportunity :) I saw them live on the opening night of their EU tour 2 months ago which coincided with the new album release, and it was an awesome experience! I'll have a little think about what to suggest as the next step and post it on Discord. There's so many nuances and directions to many of their songs that it's hard to pick a single one :) Oh btw, pronunciations of both band and my username was right. Djanx (like "jinx") was my main raiding character for a few years starting at vanilla WoW release 20(!) years ago, and it kinda stuck :D For the horde!
