PassCode - Taking you out

I FINALLY REACTED TO PASSCODE!
I swear to you that this band has been on my list for a whole year and this is me just now getting around to it. For that, I am deeply sorry!
Good news is that there will be another reaction up on YouTube featuring one of their most recent songs.
I cannot wait to show this band to my older brother!
Their management company's president, Pana (stage name), is in charge of the auto-tune during the lives in Japan. Their manager/songwriter/music producer, Koji Hirachi, took charge of it in the US during their three show stint. They literally bring a laptop and hook it directly into the sound system of the venue. I was actually able to see it personally in Dallas during the one show I went to. What I find interesting is that they change how tightly the auto-tune is programmed between lives. Some it will be barely noticeable and others it will be cranked to 11. The ladies do have input on how its programmed so it's not dictated to them like some think.

I are vocaloid effects executed differently?
I am still learning of vocaloid things.
I know there’s something like a vocoder/talkbox. I’ve always wanted to use one of those. Is it similar to those?

Lol! See! Thats the wrong kind of way. It is a punch to the gut when you hear an artist you enjoy not have the voice you think they have.
…and I love autotune when it’s used in such an artistic way like this and the other groups you’ve shown me.
I just always feel so awful when there are artists who can sing but get criticized when they sing live and the vocals sound “raw” but it’s the good kind of raw? I hope that last sentence made sense.

I suggest some of BBTS music and MAZE in the suggestion reaction channel in her discord both are heavier then passcode, passcode does have some heavy parts but BBTS and MAZE are way heavier,I think MAZE uses the same voice effects that passcode does but there both amazing…🤘🏻🫶🏼🤘🏻

You should check out the other group in this sub-genre: Broken By The Scream.
The clean vocals are far less processed. And (possibly) better choreography?
Any song from their “Live In Tokyo” videos on their official YouTube should be good introduction.

You are right, its not my kind of music ... but since you mentioned it I had to see if I could find it ... I did ... "Giveon - BET Awards". There is no place for this ... and to be fair, I knew what you meant. American performers (generally) use autotune to be "fake". As I posted, if you can actually sing autotune can produce some pretty cool effects.

My perspective on using autotune (or vocoder, difference is minimal) is quite simple, as with all additional gears musician use. If it’s used to expand your creative expressions - wich is the case with passcode IMHO - all fine, then I like and appreciate it. If it’s used to fake or cover something you are not capable to do, let it be and practice harder or change your job.
I saw Passcode live in Tokyo and they are insane regarding the energy and the precision. I felt like 4 hour nonstop workout at the gym, completely worn out - but happy 😊 And the ladies are captivating, can dance and sing very good. And the band behind them is insane good also and they show their faces and sometimes come to the front of the stage too. For me Passcode is in the top ten acts from Japan - with Band-Maid above everything, just to say 😊 And now the controversial part, Passcode for me as a musician, is more interesting than Babymetal - which I appreciate too btw and feels also more as unity with their musicians than BM.
And last but not least, thanks for another entertaining and insightful release … and yes the youth in the West could learn a bit to tolerate craziness as individual and creative expressions and the Japanese Ladies proof that you can be feminine and totally badass as well as cute and brutal at the same time. Love it 😊

Should mention, it's not auto tune, it's vocaloid effects.

Nittpicc in the monk floof ... turn the heat up girlie, no one should suffer ;) .
Yes they are an IDOL group but they are unique in that genre. Their backing band is phenomenal ... and yes the backing band is comprised of real musicians much like the Kami Band is to BabyMetal. These girls are also the queens of 8 bit music. To see what I mean sample "Miss Unlimited, Full Size".
See ... you can use autotune as an effect ... especially if you can actually sing :p .
I thought you'd appreciate the pillow fight ... in a metal song :p .
