I am so glad that I was reminded of this group. I had heard of them before, but have never actually dove into their music before. I have been told numerous times by fellow musician friends to check them out.
I'm a little ashamed that it's taken this long!
This is another small dream of mine. I wish I could participate in a ska band, but I would definitely have to switch to playing saxophone if I wanted that to happen.
I hope you guys enjoy this one as much as I did!
so Ska is the result of Jamaican swing and blues cover bands writing original songs instead of just doing covers. The guitar bit is Skank, and is (as part of the rhythm section per the swing roots) arguably the actual defining component of Ska sound, the brass is important, but like you mentioned, the specific brass components are interchangeable.

So far…my favorite TSPO song is “Free Free Free” featuring Lilas Ikuta (Yoasobi). MV and live videos available…but go with the MV.
Speaking of J-pop featuring brass, CiON “Now or Never”.
Go with the official live version. Trust me, this is a trip and a half!

Kin-ichi Motegi is my favourite Ska drummer although he's much more than that, fabulous drummer, sweats buckets for this band. He eventually replaced their original drummer and band founder after he was killed in a train accident. Since the loss of their lead vocalist to brain cancer they normally feature guest vocalists as here and/or other members of the band sing lead, which makes every performance unique.
