LOVEBITES - Break The Wall, Live Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020

Ah, yes. LOVEBITES. These ladies kill it. Every. Single. Time.
This performance is excting to hear the "dissonant" guitar solo from Midori and the lyrical, piano-esque guitar solo from Miyako.
I am always amazed by the speed and endurance of Haruna throughout the whole performance of just one song in the set. To think, she still has to perform MORE!
I know this is the Miho era of bass playing which I have read that her parts seem easy in comparison to what Fami could play, but I still think Miho is killin' it here.
Describing Lovebites as Valkyries is spot on! This live performance of Break The Wall is one of my 5 favorite performances of theirs. Don't ask me to name the other four because I'll probably name ten more. Lol. That Dallas show was incredible wasn't it? I still can't believe I was there.

I had no idea that Miho lost her father. I can’t even begin to imagine that type of loss. I’m glad she’s still active though!
I cannot wait to see what happens with Fami. She was so cute and awesome at the concert. She was all smiles and looked like she was having a wonderful time in Dallas. Cannot wait to see what she brings in the future!

It is weird that there are some that continuously compare the too. The styles are different and can co-exist and all can be fans of both.
…and I’m all for this smart-assery. Lol.

Well, it probably couldn't scream any louder for the E-Trilogy. 😉 The order is probably also correct if 'Epilogue' is taken as the fitting finale. :)🤘🏻

Miyako posted that she was having issues with her in-ear monitors during the Dallas performance. Of course no one on the audience could tell because she’s the consummate professional. But I’m sure she also relied a lot on hearing Haruna’s drum parts pounding away a few feet behind her to keep her on track. 🥁🎸
Speaking of LB songs not played at the Dallas show…
Possibly my two favorite songs from them: Empty Daydream & Edge of The World. Hopefully next time they tour the US, Miyako will have a piano to play. 🎹🤘

Ah, the endless comparison B-M vs. Lovebites... F*** that and all those who want to make that comparison or try to drive a wedge between them! I know the lines are more blurred than ever, but one plays hard rock and the other metal. So if you like both styles of music, you can also love both bands. At least that's how it is for me. B-M will always be my first love that will never go away, but over the years I've come to love LB just as much. And there's nothing wrong with that!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that all of the Wolfpack who are here agree that even if you've already heard a song by going to their concert, you can still go back to it if you want. We're all here because we like to hear how you pick parts apart, or what you think about a song. :) After all, as a music teacher, you have an advantage over many of us, because you understand and hear music in a different way than we do, and you know how to communicate your thoughts.
I know it's hard sometimes, but don't let anyone ruin it for you! It's like with people you meet in life, some you like, some you don't. Ignore them and move on. In the end, we surround ourselves with people who are good for us or each other (at least that's how it should be). 😉 Okay, enough of me trying to be a smart ass. 😇✌🏻

Greetings from Germany and, although perhaps a little late, nevertheless a warm welcome to the Wolfpack. 👋🏻🐺🤘🏻

This one really is awesome, isn't it?! This performance (Zepp DiverCity 2020) is from their live album + DVD release "Five of a Kind". IMO it's the best Lovebites live recording. Everyone plays perfectly through the whole show and the mix is fantastic. I recommend getting a copy of the DVD if you can!
Regarding Miho, she left the band due to personal reasons that AFAIK she has never fully shared publicly. There appears to be no hard feelings between her and the rest of the band though, and they even begged her to stay at the time of her departure. It's possible it has to do with her needing some time to deal with the loss of her father, which it seems like she took pretty hard. That being said, these days she's been playing Bass in a number of bands as a supporting musician, and she seems quite happy doing so!
Regarding her vs. Fami, it's difficult to say at this point because we've yet to really see Fami's impact. She joined right before the recording of their album "Judgement Day", but most of that album was written before Fami joined. Since then the only new material has been a new EP they released last year, so her influence on the band is still developing. Aside from Lovebites she has a quite popular Youtube channel (It has almost 700K subscribers) where she has posted some cool bass covers and some original songs. Her skills are really impressive in those as well, definitely worth checking out.

I am so glad you have come back to Lovebites, wondered if you were not going to react to them because you had seen them live.
I took a look at the set list for the Dallas show, there is so much more for you to dig into.
I am really new to Lovebites, summer last year, so I am not fully versed on all things. I watched the stream of their September Tokyo show and have been all in ever since.
I could go on about this band, I won't :).
A couple of things, Miyako has a solo piano EP and a MV of her adaptation of Eagle fly free by Helloween. I would suggest either listening/watching the original or LBs cover of it then the piano version.
The other thing, I'm really new at this reactor thing, is how should I go about requesting/suggesting songs?
Thanks again for going back to LB and hope you do many more :)
