Bob Dylan - My Back Pages, 30th Anniversary Concert

This one was a good one! I should be a little ashamed that I didn't even notice that Eric Clapton was in this...

I was sent this from a family member and, unfortunately it was blocked globally. I love me some Bob Dylan, but I have never heard "My Back Pages" before.

Comments

Not the biggest Bob Dylan fan but I really enjoyed that song. The thing I love about him? He knows he doesn't have a great voice. He didn't let that stop him. And neither did his audience. When I see fans in comments of YouTube music videos demanding and praising perfection... part of me worries we may be losing the ability for those people to shine through.

I love that you watched this! I was sent this and was excited to have a chance to watch it. And you're so right. Bobby's voice is...not the voice I would choose to listen to, but it's the lyrics and the storytelling he does that keeps me coming back to his music. AND THANK YOU! I guess I couldn't recognize any of them. It's funny because I know (some of) these names and what bands they're associated with, but I've never seen their faces. I guess my youth is to blame for all this.

Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison formed a group that lasted for two albums called The Travelling Wilbury's. You might enjoy discovering their hits. It's just great rock and roll.

Hi! This entire concert is great (I have it on DVD). So "excuse me" as you might say - there was a Beatle on that stage! (George Harrison in purple) This concert is well known (unfortunately) for the Sinead O'Connor Pope photo ripping/booing incident. It was quite dramatic. I also love Dylan, but his voice is not, shall we say, Julliard trained. I watched this concert with a friend once and we both had to laugh because you get a bunch of stellar performances of Dylan's songs at the beginning, then out comes the man himself and basically he quacks like a duck in comparison to the earlier vocals. But for story telling and interesting lyrics, he can't be beat.
