BAND-MAID - Real Existance comparison

This was interesting since I feel like I was taken back in time through BAND-MAID's older works.

When I recorded "Don't Let Me Down," I immediately noticed that this was older. The sound was more simplistic than that of what they have now. I then realized that "Real Existance" was from around the same time frame. The difference here is that I got to hear Kanami and Misa actually showcase their abilities. This was exciting and I imagine it was exciting to hear for the first time as a fan of their works!

I really liked seeing the blossoming of the band in this one.

...I am sticking to the motto: "Love Maid is best band maid."

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! MISA MISA MISA!!!!! the MV was my introduction to Band-Maid.

Probably my favourite track that they have done before they wrote their own music. There are some other contenders, but I have always loved this one a lot and I can't say that about all of their early tracks. Edit: Btw, as far as Saiki's makeup goes I absolutely know nothing about makeup, but I noticed a bunch of Japanese bands where members had those colored streaks under their eyes (also check Toranoko Rammy, who have this but pushed to the extreme) so I looked it up and apparently it is a Japanese style called "Igari" and it is trying to mimic someone being drunk if I remember correctly. I just noticed it on so many people that I was curious and there was no way it was a coincidence and it wasn't a style.

Sorry, I just realized Flying High is off of Conqueror, not Unseen World. At any rate, it is a pure rocker.

If you want to hear just some straight up , pure hard rock, I recommend 2 tracks from the Unseen World cd - Flying High and Chemical Reaction. Kanami insisted on Akane playing a cow bell in Chemical Reaction, no sample or any other effect. Akane didn't own a cow bell, so she had to buy one. It really adds to the song. I believe I read it came about from a riff MISA sent to Kanami. In Flying High, Miku's cat scream really makes the song. I think you will enjoy both tracks. Both are highly underrated songs in my opinion.

So when I joined the Band Maid bandwagon in mid-2017, they hadn't really toured the US yet, I read a lot of the show reports from their domestic shows and Real Existence was at that point one of their signature songs. Oddly enough where Thrill was the big song from New Beginning in the US & Europe in Japan it was Real Existence that was the more popular New Beginning song. New Beginning also still had the "Twin Vocals" with Miku & Saiki trading off vocals within a song, actually if you really wanna hear the true of "Twin Vocals" give a listen to Maid in Japan (the first album, although some members have disowned it and refer to New Beginning as the 1st). Anyway it's been fun going down memory lane with you NittPicc......thank you for that :-)

NittPicc, If Miku's whisper got you, image how many guys melted right there!

Imagine going to a Band-Maid concert for the first time and experiencing that!

We're all on a journey WITH Band-Maid now. Boy, it's fun!!!!!

The amps they use were different too, right?

Yes, this is some very "old maid" :p . The instruments are also the giveaway. None of the girls had their sponsors yet. While Kanami had a good relationship with Addictone, her sponsor PRS would come on board in 2016. MIKU - (Rickenbacker) Zemaitis, MISA MISA MISA - (Fender) Black Cloud, Akane - (Sonor) Tama. I can't find any documentation that Saiki is sponsored by either Sennheiser or DPA but she has used both. Yes, MISA MISA MISA has a Hendrix decal on her bass ... but the other one says "Sweet Potato Pie" The whole shoeless thing is because this was recorded in an actual temple and taking off your shoes to enter is a sign of respect. The cameos of each girl are great but my favorite part is the MIKU smirk at the end ... like she knew something great was happening. ... so yeah, the latter is the infamous performance of the lost shoes ;) .

We need “freedom” it has amazing interactions between members and it’s just perfect Great reaction as always
