Unlucky Morpheus - Cadaver/Revadac

This was an absolute joy to react to!

I don't know how I didn't catch that this song was going to be performed backwards when I read the name.

The music going by at the bottom was so tempting. I wanted to get my flute out and try it out, but I would rather have the sheet music sitting out in front of me vs it scrolling past my eyes as fast as it was.

The fact that you can get two songs from one chord progression in forward and reverse action is very exciting to see and hear.

I need more palindrome songs! Are there more out there?

Late reply, but the reason why Shiren (the guitar player left side of the screen and composer of their music) is playing the Strandberg headless guitar is because he has issues with his wrist or elbow tendons on one of his arms, I believe tendonitis if I remember correctly. He said in an interview that the main reason he uses this guitar is because it's lighter to eleviate the pain while playing and not because of any fancy reason. He also uses a stand on stage and his guitar rests on that stand most (if not all) of the time. The violin player Jill also took over some of his old guitar solo's in some songs to help him play a little less. Btw, the tuning pegs for those guitars are are on bridge instead of the neck of the guitar.

Headless guitars are also good for traveling artists cause they're shorter and more compact. Also, I've heard female artists say that they prefer the lighter weight ( and balance ).

Strandberg guitars are "headless" and quite innovative in many respects. The lack of a headstock keeps them from "stage diving" when being played because of the improved balance. Some players absolutely hate headless designs while others love them. Strandberg now along with PRS are the "go to" guitars for many Japanese musicians. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SShCu8JSqVk

This is a comment I read in YOUTUBE from @maximushaughton2404, I´have actively stolen it for you because is the best explanation I've ever found about this masterpiece of music: "Yes you are correct these songs were written in a way to be able to play them both ways. They came about after Shiren (Gt) read a newspaper article about a Swiss company was turning the ashes of people that had been cremated in to diamonds, which is what Cadaver is about. Then Revadac is about someone that missed the person, who's ashes are now a diamond, so much that they wanted to bring them back to life from the diamond. The drums and the vocals are different in the songs, but all the others are reversed. The thing that mess's with your head is that also in the video there are reversed parts and parts from the 1st song in the 2nd and the other way around. Something you don't see the on Cadaver the 1st time, but because your brain is aware there is something different going on, you notice it in Revadac. After a while you'll notice it in both. Why did they do it? Well they knew they could, and no one else had done it, and thought it would be fun. I thought it was a good gimmick for a video, then I saw them do it live and you realise that it's not a gimmick, but pure skill. One of the reasons why other bands do not do this is, firstly it's hard to write. Next is when bands play songs (especially at the speed Unlucky Morpheus go at) they play a lot by muscle memory, and it's very hard to be able to play a song one way then try and play it the other, as your muscles want to play it the original way."
