Dizzy Sunfist - Stay With Me (そばにいてよ)

This is what I want in a pop punk band!

I was immediately brought back to the sounds of the punk bands I used to listen to like Green Day and somewhat of The Offspring.

...the only thing about this is I was more impressed with how this band was performing. The way our guitarist does her own soloing vs what Green Day does. IYKYK!

...also..I LOVE the pink microphone!

Iyama with the long black hair was the original bassist. I really liked her. Meiko is the new bassist ... in blonde. I wanted NittPicc to see the band in it's most current form but now you can open the floodgate :p . FYI I did not know Meiko was part of Fern Planet ... another really good Japanese band.

The bassist (I'm not sure if she's from before or after or during the bass shakeup mentioned above by Panic) caught my eye (and ear) as I recognize her from when she played with Serina in RickRack/Elfin Planet/Fern Planet. Really miss them as Serina was a fabulously creative songwriter. Her vocal tone really seems to cut through and make the harmonies hit magically. I remember whistling the chorus melody to Fern Planet's "Illusion" at work one day, and as I was doing that, I started hearing her harmony in my head and nearly started crying. Such is the power of melody/harmony

Wait! ... at the start ... whose bass tone is that :p ??? Dizzy is a lot of things. It's infectious grooves, high energy, happy and cheerful, and non-stop earworms. They are a performance band and are very active in the Japanese club and festival scene. Songs are typically short and Ayapeta is NOT a shredder but can certainly hold her own and carry the song. They are just a lovable band. I can't really think of anyone who knows of them and does not like them. Nemophila just did a show with them this week and also posted a cover of one of their songs. The best song for YouTube is likely "Life is a Suspense". Be ready to laugh ... a lot :) . There are many songs in their vast catalog that you can equate to other groups. For example "The Dream Is Not Dead" is very Avril Lavigne. The song "Our House" was done when they were in between bassists (but refused to stop making music) and will probably conjure a ton of pop/punk artists in its short 2:12 length. When you go back to the start of BAND MAID and listen to the music they were given, most of it is pop/punk based. I know you have not done a lot of the early stuff ... if you swap out a member or two or consider if MIKU had just a little less drive, this could very much be BAND MAID - a great popular local act without an international following.
