BAND-MAID Band Camp

Watching this gave me persepective of what they are like together and OH MY GOSH thay are adorable! Seriously...I think I got a cavity from watching this.

I really enjoyed watching Miku poke a little fun at Akane for cooking a dish she hadn't made before and seeing Misa trying to hide from the camera while Saiki quietly slept in the other room.

Their dynamic together truely shows that they are a family that makes crazy good music together.

Based on the following excerpt from an interview I think there's a very good chance that Kanami was working on the song "Dilemma" as it was a very last-minute addition to the album. It hadn't occurred to me until now, but I wonder if the song got its title from the fact that it was itself a bit of a dilemma. --- MIKU: At first, this album was scheduled to be 14 songs po. But after we finished the 14 songs there was a feeling of vagueness or feeling of something still missing. SAIKI: Yes. So right before we had this go to mastering, we had a meeting and talked about, "Would this be enough to satisfy our masters and princesses at first listening?" It seemed all of us felt the same way. MIKU: So, we decided, "Let's make an additional song." But right when this was decided the lights went out of KANAMI's eyes immediately "Shapa-n."(laughs) SAIKI: The face KANAMI had at that time was really unbelievable(laughs). AKANE: It was also right before the USA tour. MIKU: There was less than 2 weeks before the deadline of the album and recording. And then comes along another song that has to be made from zero po. That's why the light went out of her eyes for a second... KANAMI: But I immediately recovered!(laughs) We talked "If making another, we want a fast song." I had also felt there was a shortage of fast songs in the album so I could understand. It was also fun making the song. "Alright I will make it faster and faster now!(love)"(laughs) It was quite a chore making a new song from zero at that timing, but it was good for not compromising.

Drive Time

Look...if I get to hang out with them and cook and maybe play flute on a couple of tracks...then hell yeah, I'll be their maid!

We know exactly what you mean. Even beyond their incredible music, it's who they are as people that really draws to them. They are wonderful, lovable human beings.

I don't know how or why, but even looking back, I was somehow attracted to the ladies beyond their music from the very first moment. Not in a weird stalker kind of way or anything like that, but more like you said. You would want to spend some time with them. Each of them is different and yet they all seem super likeable. They have a very special aura surrounding them, which these little glimpses confirm and reinforce, and which sets them apart from other bands.

I should clarify - I believe the documentaries come with the limited edition version of the bluray/DVD sets...

Glenner7

Their last two BluRay/DVD releases (Tokyo Garden Theatre and Yokohama arena) came with documentary discs that are just wonderful to behold. They also did a great interview for Young Guitar in 2021 about their upcoming album Unseen World, and what each member thought about it. I love the occasional interview like this where they talk seriously about their music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKvQ34ZYT9A&t=227s

So, you're offering to be a maid... for the maids, then? Send them your CV!! They can squeeze in some flute from you at the same time.

Oh that takes me back a few years, when I discovered Band Maid, I also watched a certain number of interviews and videos of this kind, including this one. When you think about it, this video is taken before Conqueror, so it's 2019, only half of their current group life, but they already seem very close. When we know how the group was formed, that we know the story behind it, it's even more touching to see to what extent this group is now just a group of friends, of sisters, playing for a super big families, us fans (and them too, because they love what they do).

That was fun. No doubt that the girls had a great time. Clearly the Band Maid Sisterhood needs a flutist/cook, NittPicc!.

These are always fun to watch. As for the reference to Akane's drum color, it's the same as the color of a robot in the anime "Neon Genesis Evangelion" - one of the most famous.
