DOLL$BOXX - Black Survival (Live)

*NOTE: Unfortunately...the audio in this one is jacked up as well. This will NOT happen again going on here forward. I found the issue and will make sure it never happens again. I tried my best to make closed captions, but sitting at the computer coughing is killing me still. I'm sorry!
I took WAAAAAAAY too long to listen to the pure epicness of DOLL$BOXX. I regret waiting this long and I now need more!
As others have already said, this is actually Doll$boxx covering and re-arranging an older Gacharic Spin song, done with their original singer Armmy back when they were a quartet. Here's the audio for the studio version of that: https://youtu.be/n7-lf8tOrBw?si=Kr9CPNx--D4boiOX
Much more recently Gacharic Spin did a new live arrangement with the current line-up (and every member singing, including Yuri the tiny drummer who is on electronic percussion for this) that also makes for an interesting contrast: https://youtu.be/e0ec8-_5_UM?si=G9UQ2vQHETcDm3jN

She has also played a bunch of other instruments in bands: bass (before Gacharic Spin), keyboard, ewi (electronic wind instrument/wind controller), Ocarina and who knows what else with Gacharic Spin. And she "played" household items as instruments during the pandemic to create a version of "Smells like teen spirit", which actually sounds pretty good. She can also tapdance. I honestly think she can do anything she puts her mind to.

I will blame it on the meds that you didn’t recognize Fuki from Unlucky Morpheus backed by the core members of Gacharic Spin.
You should follow this with the MV for “Take May Chance”.
I prefer Fuki’s studio vocals to her live vocals…yes, I will get flamed by the Fuki fanatics for saying that.
You’re probably ready to venture into the pre-Angie/Yuri era of GS. Especially to experience Hana as primary vocalist and drummer.
The MV for Sekira Liar is a fun place to start.

For your YouTube reaction, I suggest TAKE MY CHANCE from the same concert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiWSW8YkBfs&list=RDD4jCaPV3Jg4&index=2
I had hoped you recognized Tomo-Zo's PRS, but I am thrilled you enjoyed my suggestion ;) hehe

I requested the song, because I thought it was a good introduction before getting to the good stuff. Also, Gacharic Spin did a version with Angelina 1/3 doing the vocals and Yuri doing the spoken part and it would be nice for Nittpicc to do a comparison ;) hehe

Gacharic Spin and DOLL$BOX will be performing together in December & January for 5 shows. Will probably be the toughest tickets to get this year.

This will sounds crazy to you with how much you liked it but this song is by a very large margin my least favorite DOLL$BOXX song lol They don't have a lot of songs unfortunately but so many of them are straight up bangers like Loud Twin Stars, Merily High Go Round, Shout Down, Fragrance, Take my Chance, Hero, Monopoly, Karakuri Town, Dragonet...

DOLL$BOXX isn't really one of the bands who started the whole female rock bands thing (there were many female rock/metal bands in Japan before it lol)
It is a band formed by Gacharic Spin members and Fuki (who is the singer for Unlucky Morpheus), so everyone is a Gachapin member beside the singer, but Doll$boxx are great, they have a mix of Gacharic Spin's funk electronic, genre mixing and technical skills with metal and Fuki's unique singing.
They are technically still together but they didn't release any song since 2018 as far as I know but they just toured this year so they are still active, but I guess Gacharic spin members are more busy with their band and Fuki with her countless projects for them to be consistently putting out new music together

The "drummer" is a very special person... She can drum, she has a beautiful singing voice, she can growl, she can play guitar... It's crazy!

Last comment. This particular line-up (DOLL$BOXX) was a side project and only was around for a year or so. But this year they announced that they would revive DOLL$BOXX for at least one more concert this year (in the fall I believe). As for a YT video, use "Take my chance" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu2z4Uf9Tgc

Another comment about the band (minus the singer). The main band is Gacharic Spin, which is best described as loosely contained chaos on stage and all the musicians are some of the best in Japan. Gacharic Spin is one of my favorite bands (along with Band-Maid). The band was formed in 2009 by bassist F Chopper Koga and her friend from high school, Hana. When founded, Hana was playing bass in another band and switched to drums (she is a multi-instrumentalist). Together they found guitarist Eita and singer Armmy and as a non-member, Oreo, for keyboards. After a few concerts on their first tour, Eita left the band. Oreo's band Eu Phoria, in which Tomo-Zo was guitarist, had just split up so Tomo-Zo could start at Gacharic Spin. Oreo supported the band with Keyboards at concerts in 2010 and 2011. After Armmy left the band in 2012 due to health issues (she later passed away), Oreo became a member. In 2019 they added a new singer Angie (when she was around 18) and a new drummer Yuri so that drummer Hana could move upfront as second guitarist.
