BAND-MAID - Warning!

The gasp that I gusped when I saw Misa, Kanami and Akane riding on cars while playing...

The music video is one of the most epic videos I've seen and have proven to me how far these ladies will go for pure epicness. I KNOW I would be good friends with these ladies, because I would've said "hell yeah," to getting ontop of a car and playing my flute. Ha!

Anyway, This was a fun listen with both the music video and the live version.

What is the music video you would show someone to introduce them to BAND-MAID?

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! MISA MISA MISA!!!!!

And as in so many MVs from B-M, the question arises as to whether there's a little hidden message in here too. 🤭I mean, it's interesting that in a Japanese music video an American Caddi drives against a British Jaguar and they end up destroying each other... Someone on YT once came up with the theory that these represent the respective music markets and that the fact that the ladies are standing in front of, on and between the ruins could be symbolic. I like this theory and love this song. 🔥🤘🏻

This is my “Arin” plushy. It’s actually double sided and has a smiling “Dan” on the other side. I am a huge gamer and a huge fan of the YouTube duo “GameGrumps.” 😅

I need to get my hands on that DVD. I would be happy to react to them on here! I want to hear the instrumentals so bad!

I have read that Kanami is afraid of heights. I can not imagine having to play like that on a moving car for a video even with being strapped in, she must have had a tough time there. This was one of the early songs I have heard by them since I discovered them around the time this album released and I have always liked the track because of that. Also, Akane absolutely kills it on the drums, but I guess that's par for the course. The very first Band-Maid video I watched might have been Domination Live as well, but I don't remember. Not sure what I would recommend for newcomers. I think the Domination Live video is still great, but the official Live Hate one is as well.

Saiki says: I only ride chauffeured in the back seat.

As for what song I would use to introduce somebody to the band, it would depend on who I was introducing. For somebody just wanting an exciting band, yeah, Warning is it. For somebody looking for a great stage performance, Domination or Hate. For somebody looking for something melodic, Daydreaming. Etc.

Yep, my interpretation of events is that Kanamizilla played such a hot solo on top of those cars that they were excited at the subatomic level to go back in time and crash into each other and explode, so she would have their wrecks to stand upon and shred properly. Driven, of course, by the machine-gun beat that Akane is laying down behind it.

If you Google, kanami godzilla, and go to images, you will find a cool take on this very cool song.

This was the first time they played this after the release of "Unseen World" when they did an on-line concerted during the lockdown. They also played a number of other tracks from the album. Most of the songs on UNseen World come with a warning label about listening an driving. Also, they release some songs with an instrumental video (called "white room") where Saiki is not singing so we can more clearly hear how different the songs are without the main melody. Some of there white room videos are floating around (they are a bonus for the premium version of the releases).

NittPicc - what is the angry looking plushy on the end of your Mic stand/arm thing? Just curious.

My introduction to Band-Maid was the song ‘Shake That’ but if I was to use a song to introduce Band-Maid to someone it would have to be ‘Moratorium’ from Just Bring It (https://youtu.be/W5QgCZUkx9g?si=g-Km-o1VZwWn207-).

video is kool, but the live is *chef's kiss*

How the idea for the video happened (in my head canon): director shares their idea for wanting to film the band up on top of cars. Kanami instantly raises her hand eagerly saying 'me, me I'll go'. They ask MISA. MISA's like 'I'll go if Akane goes with me'. Akane replies 'only if I can play my drums'. Then they ask Miku and she's shaking her head fervently - pig tails flying. 'Nope, no way! I'll fall!' Lastly they ask Saiki, who looks away bored, states (in her too kool kinda way) 'I'm not going up there'. Discussion over. Anyway, that's how I imagine that conversation going.

I remember liking the song very much, but wasn't my favorite on Unseen World, still isn't by the way, but I heard them play it live in Detroit and I never knew how heavy it was. I couldn't stop banging my head during the entire song.
