BAND-MAID - Afterlife

If there are typos in this message, it’s because I’m typing this from the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma at a family reunion:

The video made me search deep for what it means.

I've been told that Miku really liked her job at the maid cafe, but I would assume she ran into an annoying customer every now and then, and trying to keep calm and save face in the main area was fround apon. I assume this is her song of freedom. Letting her 🕊️imagination run wild.

Needless to say. It was epic!

MISA MISA MISA!!!!!

After my comment under 'Warning', I can't help but talk about the meaning of the music video here too. 😇 The opening scene was shot in a @home cafe, the store where Miku used to work as a maid and where the idea for B-M was born. And then we see 5 people, one of whom is fed up with her job, and 4 others who gradually(!) join her in the madness, but in the end all pose for a photo like a perfect family. Of course, purely by chance, 3 of them are wearing maid costumes and 2 are not really. 🤭 The story seems familiar to me from somewhere. 🤔 Whoever comes up with the ideas for their MVs, hats off!!!

I would totally do this! I love the maid outfits. They are so cute! I want a headband/headpiece with a flower like Saiki or Miku. 🥹 they have their red and blue flowers. I want mine to be purple! …can you tell I’ve been planning this out? 🤣

NittPicc

I also think NittPicc’s comment of ‘Akane’s is my heart’s Good Arrhythmia’ would be a great shirt - but let’s not NittPicc. lol

When the red smoke is added, I can’t help but think of Robert Palmer video (I can’t recall the name of it). May be mistaken.

You like the whole cute maid thing...Do you own a maid outfit Nitt? If not, do you want one? If we bought you one, would you do some reactions to Band-Maid in the outfit? :)

Mike Holmes

"Misa has entered the chat" would make for a good poster or t-shirt. Or a meme.

While Mikusays she never writes about her life experiences, I can't help but wonder if there was an incident in the maid cafe where she worked that pissed her off enough to put this crazy set of scenes in the video. The lyrics are also indicative of a frustrated vent.

video is kinda weird :D

Miku worked at the @HOME maid cafe in Tokyo, supposedly it's the largest and most successful and from everything that I've read she had a good time there and learned about about customer service. . There's a video on YT about a person visiting and filming their visit if you're interested - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvRg7Oh6pes As for the meaning of the video, all I'm going to say is that the first girl we see is wearing a red ribbon and the second girl is wearing a blue ribbon.

MISA is usually the owner and mistress of the second verses. And Miku actually shouts LOUD that "don't say you love me" in their live performances. That´s probably my favorite battle cries of hers. If you are subscribed to her website, they have the making movie of this video in the omei-syu sama special movies section. The girls have an incredible sense of humor so here you can see them putting on some of the most hilarious wedding theater ever.

Trying to come up with a top 10 Band Maid song list is damn near impossible, they just have so many great songs - and there's more on the way! But this is in my top 10. This is what a kick ass hard rock song is supposed to be. I talked 2 of my friends into going to Philly in 2022 to see them. My friends liked the songs that I shared with them, but I wouldn't call them Maidiacs. But their minds were blown seeing them live and my one buddy who is a big Black Sabbath and Ozzy fan said out loud "Oh, I like this one!" when Afterlife was played. Yeah, this one is pure unadulterated Badassery!!
