BAND-MAID - Catharsis

I needed this one, guys.

After working with teenagers for a week as well as preparing mentally to work with them again this next week...I definitely needed this one to lift my spirits!

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! MISA MISA MISA!!!!!

Much appreciation for this - and apologies for late viewing ๐Ÿค I love both versions equally. The moment the song opens up any negative mood is just gone for me.

Kawaii (ใ‹ใ‚ใ„ใ„) means cute.

There is another video that was released recently. It is a Q & A from PRS guitars with Dani from the Warning, and Kanami from Band-Maid. If Kanami is not the personification of cute, I don't know what is. KAWAI !!!

It is really great to hear reactions from someone who has an academic background in music. I was a music major in college for a year, until I realized I didn't want to teach music, and was not good enough to perform well enough to make a living from music. I am going to make a few requests for you to react to. I am going to limit it to 5 songs (which is very hard to do). These will be fairly obscure tracks not many reactors do. Yuragu, Yolo (Kanami piano version plus studio version), You (Just Bring It), Start Over, and Rinne (Conqueror). Start Over is in response to fans not having any Band-Maid songs to sing at karaoke (spoiler alert: Saiki drops an F bomb at the end). Rinne is in response to some critics saying their sound had become too soft (a lot of slower, mid tempo songs in Conqueror).

Imitation is the ultimate form of admiration? Something like that?

I would love to get my hands on the. DVD or whatever for this or any of their acoustic performances! Its been said of this Christmas Concert, but you can see the proud look of sensei Tono glancing toward gaksei Kobato at times. When I saw there was an acoustic version of Puzzle, I thoughtโ€ฆ how will they do that?! Same thing between these two versions. How the gorilla becomes a jazz drummer, Mincho has her very measured (precision) improv out of shreaded riftsโ€ฆ etcโ€ฆ. WOW! What versatile musicians!

This was such a great gift from the Maids to the fans! I must have warched this 20 times before my ticket expired. Football? I'm guessing you're referring to that American Rugby, where they don't use their feet? ;)

Love both versions for different reasons. The original studio release, when you're done listening to it, really does feel cathartic. It's so chaotic with all the guitar parts (Kanami records all guitar parts for all the album songs,. then changes Miku's parts to be playable at concerts). The acoustic version is another song that is similar to the original. Also Japanese high schools are really into marching bands, they even sent one one over for the Rose Bowl parade a couple of years - this is mostly an all female band (a couple of boys for the larger instruments) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xkz0l1pqfEg

I call that little Instrumental part in the acoustic version an "acoustic romp". It reminds me of children, or puppies, or ponies running, jumping, or playing in an open field.
