Hola Familia!

If you are reading this, I am currently at a family reunion and will probably be quieter than usual. In all honesty, the next few weeks will be pretty quiet from me since I will have summer band as well. Don't worry though! Content will still be coming here and Patreon!

Here's the line-up:

BAND-MAID Sunday:

PATREON Extras:

ANIME Reactions:

I cannot wait to see family and in some ways I am excited for band camp, but I'm already tired thinking about the summer heat! I hope you all are well!

Con Amor,

I'm going to put "Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night" down for when I finish "Rock Is A Lady's Modesty." I'm intrigued. Lol

I do think K-On is worth a watch, both for it's cultural impact of helping inspire a generation of girls & boys to pick up instruments & revive light music clubs across Japan and because it's a quintessential example of the 'cute girls doing cute things' sub-genre of slice-of-life anime. The songs are very catchy and it was one of Kyo-Ani's early hits, but it is also potentially a big investment of time at 40 episodes across two seasons (including an OVA) and a movie. I'm not sure there's as much for you to sink your teeth into both with the narrative & musically compared with Sound! Euphonium. What I am going to recommend isn't actually a music anime at all, though I do enjoy the soundtrack a great deal. 'A Place Further than the Universe' is an amazing single season 13 episode standalone show available on Crunchyroll which is written by screenwriter Jukki Hanada, who was also heavily involved in both Girls Band Cry and Sound! Euphonium. He also wrote the scripts for eleven episodes of K-On! and seven episodes of Chobits funnily enough. It's a coming of age story/adventure with stunning visuals and great character development, only mildly emotionally devastating in places and mostly uplifting, don't want to explain the plot too much though cos it'd be getting into spoiler territory. Since you have Hidive now there's also 'Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night' which I previously recommended with caveats mostly about you accessing it legally. It's another anime original based around a music/creative collective formed of misfits, didn't quite match the initial ambition of the story (in my eyes it started as an A+ but was a B- by the end) but is still very watchable and quite self enclosed at a single 12 episode season. They have also produced some music beyond the show and recently did a merch crossover with Girls Band Cry that implied they might exist within the same universe.

I also suggest K-ON and Carole and Tuesday
