BAND-MAID - Glory (MV & Live July 23, 2020 with score!)

I apologize for the jumps in the score road map. There were a lot in this one.

I hope you guys can help me out when I was trying to put a general label on what this song makes me think of style-wise.

Again I was astonished by the amount of parts created for the band in this song. Like a comment a read last week, Kanami seems to compose with a symphonic sound in mind and you can see it from the score.

I cannot wait to dive into the next two books. Should I work through Brand New Maid first?

The twanginess is giving southern rock, but I dunno about the rhythms. Those remind me a little of punk or even ska (call me crazy, but I kinda hear it), but that’s not what it is.

From https://www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/agycub/mystery_hands_in_glory_video/ "Saiki in the ... interview in Utaten January 2019 revealed that the hands which appear to grab the VR headset at the end of the song are not hers! She would not say which member's hands they were. Only to check all the past videos and observe everyone's hands!

That live performance was amazing, the girls did a great job. The "hidden" solos are a distinctive feature of Band Maid, I don't really find examples of anything like that in other bands. Kanami writes a huge amount of music under the vocals, I guess that's one of the attractions of her music, you always end up finding little surprises long after you've heard the song for the first time.

Best live version I've seen is from the 2020 Line Cube Shibuya concert. Worth it just for the joy Saiki gets from throwing the mike out and getting the crowd to sing back lines
