Claude Bolling - Baroque in Blue
Added 2025-04-02 15:15:01 +0000 UTCI remember being denied the chance to play in jazz band in high school. I was so bummed out about it.
I went to my next flute lesson and told my flute teacher and she told me that not having flute in jazz is "utter bullshit." Martha Davis is a queen.
After that day she fed me small bits and pieces of jazz albums and pieces composed specifically for flute and I remember dipping my toe into the shallow end of jazz fluting.
This was the first piece I learned and man, oh man...do I love me some Claude Bolling.

Maybe you can also add your voice to Band-Maid in doing, for April Fools, Jazz Maids. Band-Maid has shown hints of this like Forbidden Tales and other songs. Thanks once again for sharing this part of yourself - love it.

2025-04-03 00:38:46 +0000 UTCThat was incredible and delightful! Bravo! Encore! What a nice way to unwind after a long day of delivering mail! I enjoyed the cafe scenery and atmosphere. Coffee, wine glasses, nice upbeat jazz and my favorite flutist! This may sound weird, but the first two parts you played made think of Bugs Bunny frolicking through the woods on his way to create some hilarious havoc! LOL! Thank you for this, it was great~!

2025-04-02 23:29:47 +0000 UTCThat's what I immediately thought about -- Jethro Tull! There were so many jazz style Ian Anderson covered. Serenade To A Cuckoo, Dharma For One, Bouree... And a lot of flute solos over the place, of course.
