BAND-MAID - Before Yesterday (return with score!)

May the BAND-MAID Masters and Princesses forgive me for breaking a rule. I had to check out the live version...BUT I will repent by buying BAND-MAID merch to give to my brother! He needs to start gathering fan stuff so why not be from his little sister?!

I forgot the nostalgic feeling I got from this song and I clicked that I could hear The Ataris version of Don Henley's "Boys of Summer." I'm a HUGE Don Henley fan. Weird, maybe? I blame my dad.

This song has some small surprises in it musically, but the live version is ever so slightly different that it was enough to notice the small adjustments made to enhance the performance.

FYI, you actually do have access to this video. It's on BAND-MAID Prime. 2nd song at 4:20. https://bandmaidprime.tokyo/movies/58102 Fans usually refer to this show as "Akasaka BLITZ" which was the venue.

This song’s lyrics were written by Nakamura Hikata and the music was composed, and arranged by, Hitoshi Okamoto. But, to me it’s Band-Maid. I love this song but can’t explain why. May be the familiarity, or maybe the emotion in Saiki’s voice? Whichever it captivates me. Thanks NittPicc for exploring this song, again.

And it would save him the misery and frustration of not hearing new Band-Maid songs, lol!

They were so young...

It would be fun if you and Marc could hook up remotely via video for reaction to Band-Maid songs occasionally.

That was the Maids wondering around Seattle in that video.

NittPicc - you MUST being your Big Brother back for more reactions! This means you must ban him from watching the videos you want him to react to! Marc is awesome!!

It is fun and interesting for me, discovered Band Maid last year, to listen to their early days. The bonus to that is having you go over things that I hear but don't know the terms for, not being a musician. The live version is great, the vast majority of Band Maid is a step up live imo. Speaking of live, I noticed that you have not reacted to Shambles live. They posted a live version on their YouTube channel; it is a must watch. Thanks, as always for doing this.

One of the things I remember when I first heard/watched this awesome song was how much we got to see MISA smile!
