BAND-MAID - alone (w/ score)

I sinned again here. I am sorry again...but it was hard to resist.

I forgot about how "alone" was the breakout song for BAND-MAID since it was their first original composition by Kanami and members.

Seeing the score, you can tell that Kanami really pulled out all the punches. Parts are stacked and fully orchestrated. Parts are more advanced here. Changes happen in the parts in comparison between the other songs and this...

It's cool to see the evolution.

...and the live video...the mix. It's so pure!

You did better than I could have, trying to follow those Coda in real time with the video. I would have had to stop to go back and then find where to jump to the Coda

In reaction to you comment about help, I get it. I'm the same. Now to the point, I have the Score Book for Unseen World and would love for you to have it, if you don't already. Let me know if your interested, it would be a gift.

I just want to add that this is the first song "Accepted" by their label, as Kanami had been working steadily and submitting songs the whole time, but they were rejected. I've seen a question put to Kanami if any of those songs might surface, and she was adamant that they were gone and won't be revisited. Too bad, I think it would have been interesting to hear them. Hats off to Kanami's Bandmates for encouraging her to keep writing and being persistent with their praise of her skills!

No no, let her sin more often, I very much liked this one! I still disagree with her idea of sin, really. How listening to a masterpiece can be a sin? Her mind is poisoned by the copyright maniacs... MISA's saving grace immediately saves any wayward soul.

I think almost anyone who grew on Pink Floyd would have this association. Ummagumma, the first thought.

Vladimir Chupin

Interesting. I was thinking the same thing. I also feel like Kanami's solo for Don't You Tell ME at Yokohama Arena sounds very Pink Floyd-ey.

I see Vladimir has already made this point, but I distinctly remember that live stream with the bass intro thinking "Oh, Band-Maid is covering a Pink Floyd song?"

MISA MISA MISA!!! Well, she truly is a genius, there can be no doubt about it. It's interesting that if you read Saiki's interview in the Unseen World Score Book, she comments there about all the members, how they were improving over the yearsβ€”and then she says, "I think MISA was always a genius." What that extra live intro reminded me of, is Pink Floyd's Ummagumma. I don't know if you have ever listened to that album. It's a double album, and I'm talking here about the first part, where each of the four members was given half a side on the disc to do whatever they want. It's a very avantgarde type of stuff, for the most part, but strangely, I often listened to it in my student years. Driving my neighbours crazy πŸ˜‚

Hello Boston! Thanks for the cameo!

Sister NittPicc, yes, you can be forgiven for your sin of reacting to this illicit video. 5 Moe Moe's, 4 Kyun Kyun's and two Kuruppos po! Go forth and sin no more Po! LOL!

Charles Coleman

One of the many things that The Maids do really well is their intros. they always add so much to already great songs!

Charles Coleman

If this is their first song they did all by themselves (and it is po), it's like hitting a bases clearing stand-up triple in your first Major League at bat! They crushed it! And that solo by The Minch is still one of my top 5 solos of hers.

Charles Coleman

LOL! You are funny! Have you seen the AD/HD t-shirts that look like AC/DC logo shirts? If you do find you have it, you should get one of those shirts. πŸ˜‚

Charles Coleman

Though it has its own issues as a recording, it is worth finding the version of this song from Lollapalooza to hear Saiki's last low not before the "whoa-oh's" at the end.
