"Come Together" - The Beatles, High School Marching Band Show

Okay...I said I would post this when our marching season was over. I couldn't find the official recording that we have made for our band.
I asked around and got a hold of a good recording! Finally!
A little bit about what I do with marching band:
This might come as a surprise to you all, but I am the visual coordinator/marching tech.
Marching Tech:
What this job entails is making sure that all the students are moving their feet correctly and marching in the most efficient way while looking completely uniform in their style of marching. Every school's marching style varies so this can be difficult to achieve full uniformity.
Visual Coordinator:
All that body movement that you see on the field? The way the kids run (we call it jazz run or flutter) to their spots? The way they dance and move? That's all me! I teach that.
Funny enough, I have NOTHING to do with the music portion during this season. It's a nice change of pace!
...but damn...I love me some marching band!

2025-04-28 18:23:21 +0000 UTCFirst song was "Because". In between "Eleanor Rigby" and "Yesterday" was "Blackbird" (in a minor key.) I think my fave Beatles marching band song is "Got To Get You Into My Life"... I guess because it's basically already arranged like that. π

One of my favorite Beatles song that I have marching bands play is "Here Comes The Sun". NittPicc, kudos for your work of getting all those kids to move together so we'll during that performance. From the distance of the camera, the movement and coordination looked flawless. THAT is a lot of work to put in to make the band look like that. Again, congrats!
