Girls Band Cry, S.1, Ep. 1 - Tokyo Heave-Ho

The animation in this anime is GORGEOUS! It's like I am watching a live action video game with that anime style of drawing that I love!

...this anime is so cute. A girl just wanting to break out on her own to find her own way and meets her favorite guitarist?

The humor is gold as well. I lost it with the resturant scene. Good stuff!

AND THE MUSIC! YES! The background music is beautiful and that credit scene. OMG!

Unlike you I am NOT a fan of the Animation style. I watch Anime cos it is not realistic and I would normally not have watched but the story had me hooked and I ended up loving this Anime. So I am glad I gave it a chance.

Whilst there are certainly parallels with Band-Maid, 'rural' musicians moving to the big city/cosmopolitan areas to improve pursuing their careers is hardly an unusual trope, in the US moving to LA, Nashville or New York used to be a frequent occurrence if you were trying to get signed, much like moving to London or Manchester in the UK. One of the biggest contemporary singers in Japan, LiSA, is originally from Seki in Gifu before moving to Tokyo in '08. Scandal started in Osaka and moved to Tokyo after getting signed to a major label and once Tomomi & Mami had graduated high school (youngest member Rina ended up having Haruna act as her temporary guardian for a year or so when they first moved due to being under 18).

Several of these animes with girls in bands almost all have a similar relationship with the members of Band-Maid. Miku Kobato is "a country girl" from Kumamoto. In August, Miku and Band-Maid are returning to Kumamoto to perform. I have tickets to the show. I'll travel to Japan for two weeks to catch four of their shows.
