Added 2025-05-21 15:00:13 +0000 UTCI am not going to lie...it's hard to not get annoyed Yuuko. I understand she really wants to support her upperclassmen, Kaori but man...it's hard to watch.
The drama builds so much in the potential love(?) between Reina and Kumiko and the way the audition played out (no pun intended) was not what I was expecting.
Both trumpet players performed well, but one played more musical than the other. But because both were good, I did like that Taki-sensei gave Kaori the opportunity to take the solo since she sounds good anyway, but the fact that she gave it up. She understood what she heard was better. That's a true musician.
I cannot wait for more!!!

I don't know if anyone mentioned it in later chapters but Kaori's trumpet is played by a high school student while Reina's is played by a professional trumpet player.

Although I didn't play in a band, I had a very similar experience in sport so I can relate - at high school the first and second teams for Rugby were made up of the top 3 years, so ages 15-18. When I was 15 I was the best player in my position but the coach selected based on seniority, the senior players had waited and it was now their turn and I would have to wait and play in the 2nd team instead. When I was in the top year we got a new coach who decided not only to not pick on seniority, but to select younger players even if less talented, so that by the time they were seniors they would have more experience... I almost quit the team in that final year after being passed over again, but I decided to stick with it and captained the 2nd team and showed the coach he was wrong...(the first team did terribly and continued to be terrible after I left!)
