I find the use of the minor key quite beautiful.
The vocals really sell the lyrics in an emotional way. This is a lovely performance!

First off, that's a peak Army of Darkness shirt!!! So jealous!!! I should have named the band members in my original post, and for that I apologize and I'll fix that right now. Kyo is the vocalist, Toshiya is the bass player, Die(with the long hair) and Kaoru are your guitar players , with Shinya rounding out the group on drums. I agree with your interpretation of the song. You could say that the majority of DEG songs center around darkness or some sort of suffering, and they're all beautiful in their own way. Even though I've been listening to them almost exclusively for the last 8 months or so, I'm still a very new fan of DEG in the grand scope of things. Trying to digest and absorb a band's entire 30 year discography and music history is impossible in such a short amount of time. So of course after requesting this song I'd naturally come across more songs that should have been chosen first, or what I could choose for the next one in the distant/not so distant future. I'd be like, "Farts! I should have chosen this one first! Or, this one should be next. No! This one should be next!!". It's a vicious cycle. Then of course I found drum cam videos from Shinya's official Youtube channel recently that are adding to my mental turmoil...I'm very glad that you enjoyed this song NP!
