Hola Familia!
The weekend is here again and I am ready for some great music! Guess what?! Thanks to all of you here on YouTube, Patreon and BuyMeACoffee, I was able to buy a laptop to work from on my breaks at work now! I am typing this post on the new laptop right now! I cannot thank you all for the love and support that you have given me over the year and a half(?) I have been doing this. I am very grateful to all of you, and I hope you can feel it through the screen!
Okay, I'll stop being sappy. Here's the line-up:
BAND-MAID Sunday:
We had such a sick opening to the World Domination album. I was so pumped after that first track! We are revisiting "Play" this week. Since I have experienced the official live version, I am going to step into the studio version in this reaction. The reason for this is I want to have to opportunity to dig deep into the track. In all honesty, it's really hard not to stare at the fun the Maids are having so this takes one distraction away from me. I cannot wait to see what I hear without seeing!
PATREON Extras:
Coheed and Cambria - Window of the Waking Mind
It's been a little while since I have listened to this band. I remember really loving "Domino the Destitute" with it's sound and it's context with the music video. Coheed and Cambria have this ability to tell stories with their music and I cannot wait to see what this story is about. I have been given a short synapsis of what this song is about from Hebes so let's get into it!
Primus - Tommy The Cat
So...I have heard the name Primus. I asked my coworkers if they knew of this band and they told me they didn't know them. After asking other friends about them, one finally looked at me with a face lit up and started screaming this cowboyish style yell in my face. I'm sorry, PANIC. I don't know Primus at all and I feel like I should. I have heard whispers of the name Les Claypool, but I haven't actually heard him play bass. This makes me really excited! I assume he's going to be another bass inspiration for me! I guess we have an adventure to revisit sometime with Primus?
BAND-MAID - Play (studio version score analysis & live Autumn/Winter 2017 tour at Studio Coast)
Since I have seen the official live video, I wanted to check out another and thanks to Eaglez1, I was given a suggestion on another live version to check out on Prime. I cannot wait for this! ...and of course we will be looking at the score while listening to the studio version. Honestly, this is my favorite part! I wish we could just be in a classroom analyzing the music together!
ANIME Reactions:
Liz and the Blue Bird movie
This movie is within the Sound! Euphonium realm and oh my GOSH! It's so worth a watch. I love that this story covers the relationship between Mizore, the shy oboist and Nozomi, the outgoing flutist. Their story unfolds in such a beautiful and sad way, but ends with the hope that navigating friendships is possible even when feelings get difficult.
The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 1
This. Show. Is. AWESOME! I know it's only episode 1 but there was so much that went on with medicine and medical mysteries that I was HOOKED! It's an anime that takes place in imperial china, so we have concubines, consorts, and eunuchs! I cannot wait to see how many medical mysteries can be solved!
K-On! - Season 1, Ep. 9
NEW MEMBER ALERT! Azusa has joined the light music club and man oh man can she play! The girls are so happy to have her, but Azusa is not vibing with the lack of practice happening in the club. Can she come around to the tea time and cakes that the club does to get to know each other? You'll have to watch and see!
I just want to say again, thank you for making this little flute player's dream of working on content from her main job with a portable laptop possible. I still can't believe that I am doing what I am doing and I cannot complain about anything even if I have a bad day. You guys make it all worth it! Thank you for being here. π₯°
Please take care out there!
Con Amor,
πNittPiccπ
