Coheed and Cambria - Window of the Waking Mind

The story being told in this song is heat warming and based on whatever perspective you look at it, it's absolutely beautiful.

Coheed and Cambria desereve a real full orchestra for this song.

Oh Coheed! I haven't heard this song myself yet, I'll listen to that first and then to this!

Thanks for listening to this, love your analysis as always! This song is EPIC. It's pretty different from the rest of the album, and it's the only one that features this much orchestration. I wholeheartedly agree, this deserves a live version with a full orchestra! It's like a whole rock opera in one song, and It's absolutely beautiful. You started tearing up in the exact same places as I do when I listen to this. 😆😭 All the Vaxis albums were written after Claudio Sanchez had his son, and it really shows through in this song. I thought your interpretation of part III "Birth" really interesting. In the written fiction of the story, Vaxis is comatose (there's even a song earlier in the album called "Comatose" which shows a bit of what Vaxis is feeling inside while unconscious). But I've also noticed the same parallels you did to autism/other disabilities, and it wouldn't surprise me if it was intentional. The motif/chord progression of the orchestral outro has been featured in the beginning and end of almost all of the Vaxis albums so far, and is featured in the chorus of the song "Old Flames" from the first Vaxis album, Unheavenly Creatures. It's become an interesting thru line connecting all of the albums in this narrative arc. I don't have children myself (and currently don't plan on it) but I am Type I Diabetic, so these lyrics definitely hit home in places, especially in Part III. At some point I should give you one of their slower, and less prog heavy songs so you can check one of those out!
