K-ON!, S.1, Ep.11 - Crisis!

Look...sometimes friends need to have some time to themselves. Sometimes they might need to hang out with other friends to have some distance. I think it's perfectly healthy to practice boundaries.

Friends have spats and arguments. We are all human after all. As long as you can talk it out if neccesary and move on, it's all good.

I really liked this episode due to the conflict involved. Does that say something about me???

I love for you to carry on with K-ON with season 2 and the movie.

With guitar (and bass) it's a combination of both action, balancing string tension and neck relief relative to string gauge; balancing the two for both the player's personal taste and playing style (a shredder setup is generally very different compared to a jazz player who does chordal solos, a meat & potatoes rhythm guitarist with a heavy touch & ferocious right hand or a guitar setup for slide). You want the neck close to straight but with just enough relief to avoid buzzing from the player's normal style and where the amount of pressure they need to apply to get the notes to ring clearly doesn't bend the intonation sharp, especially with complex chords (if they play that way). I worked part-time as a guitar technician through most of college & university (4-5yrs) and can unfortunately confirm that unless you're top tier (usually an established luthier who does repairs on the side) then you don't get paid/valued nearly as much relative to classical instrument technicians, despite what the musicians get charged by the store for the work still being not insignificant. The maintenance work on Yui's guitar was supposed to be 5k JPY so approximately $34 in 2009, adjusted upwards for inflation it would be closer to $50. Actually not bad at all when you factor in the cost of new strings is included, but this type of work is sometimes done at reduced rates to encourage customer retention. It also amused me that in the background when Yui & Azusa are pictured in profile chatting with her guitar being worked on, you can distinctively see three black variants of Mr Big guitarist Paul Gilbert's most long term signature Ibanez guitar the PGM on the wall (easily recognisable by the cosmetic fake f-holes on the body). Since the early 90s they are still the definition of a band much more popular in Japan than their home nation. I'm more than happy to either have you continuing on with K-On or to take a break and watch 'Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night' then come back to K-On. I certainly want you to watch & react to all of K-On eventually, but I'm also biased towards Jellyfish given I recommended it and think there's less of us regulars to the anime reactions that might've seen it previously.

I don't mind rewatching the show with you, even if I have the DVD of the two season and the movie, it's been a while since I watched it so I really welcome every reaction you do to it ^^. Jellyfish is good too, but if I'm being honest, I don't mind waiting for it, it is still fresh in my mind. That just me that said. Now, about the episode, keep in mind that Mio and Ritsu are friend since forever, in the same way Nodoka and Yui are friend. So yeah, Ritsu was being jealous that Mio would go with Nodoka instead of her, that why she tried to tease her like she always do during the club session, because that there relationship, Ritsu tease Mio, Mio get angry and yell at Ritsu, that part of there bond and friendship. She was thinking that by doing that and remind Mio the good moment, Mio wouldn't want to go away from her. Ritsu isn't the more subtle and even if she is a people person (meaning, she befriend people easely), she isn't that great to express her own feeling very well and is pretty clumsy in that way. But Mio and Ritsu are so cute together, that we don't mind some fight between them, because they will always have each other in the end.
