This message is coming out late because today is marching contest! The high school bands I work with go to contest and for sure they are going to get their division 1 ratings. Area is next weekend, so we are working on making sure that we are ready to compete with some of the best high school bands out there. Wish us luck!

BAND-MAID Sunday:

• Here we are with "Spirit!!," which returns us to the "written by BAND-MAID" tracks. Since I haven't recorded this yet, I have no idea what's in store for my ears. I have been thrown some cool curveballs so far, so I am so ready for this next track!

• Melt - "Sour Candy"

  • I have had the pleasure of being introduced to the musical groups Lake Street Dive, Lawrence, and Couch. Here we are with another group with similar tones to those mentioned above and I am excited! Melt is from NYC (a city I want to visit at least once in my life) and is a soul-pop style band. I have heard great things so far so I cannot wait to hear what they have to give!

• Regal Lily - "Tokyo"

  • I researched this band a tad before typing this up and I read that they can be considered J-Pop Rock or shoegaze-Rock. I'll let you guys discuss that, but if that is what I was given about them, then I am excited! I don't mind me some shoegaze! From what I also understand is this band has been featured in the anime Delicious in Dungeon and I won't lie, that title has me intrigued...

• BAND-MAID - "Spirit!!" score analysis and World Domination at Zepp Tokyo live, 2018

  • If there is a score for it, then the song is more than likely going to be fun and exciting to read. At least this is what I have noticed in my experience so far with score analysis of BAND-MAID. I cannot wait to read through this score with you and then break it down! ...and of course we are going to watch the live performance from the 2018 World Domination tour!

ANIME Reactions:

• Sound! Euphonium: Special Feature, Ensemble Contest OVA

  • NO TEARS THIS TIME! I really enjoyed this movie because I got to see Kumiko come into her leadership role. School organizations teach us how to become leaders in our society. In this movie, you can see how Kumiko admits she doesn't know everything, needs to rely on her peers for help as well as realizing that being there for her fellow band members is what makes a great leader.

• The Apothecary Diaries - Season 1, Ep. 5

  • UGH! Cliff hangers! This episode talks about what women can experience by...well...just existing. Maomao is dressed up by the other ladies in waiting and to their surprise, her freckles aren't real. Turns out, she was making herself look "less desirable" to keep herself safe from handsy men...but then it ENDS before the Garden Party even BEGINS!!

• K-On! - Season 1, Ep. 13

  • I haven't recorded this episode so it will be coming this Sunday for my anime family. From what I understand, these are bonus episodes after the end of the season so we enter the winter holiday with Yui wanting to spend time with her friends. I can't wait to see the cuteness coming up!

I hope you all are enjoying the change in costumes and makeup for the Halloween season. It's been fun picking what the next costume/cosplay should be. I have a lot of cosplays sitting in my closet, so this is only the beginning of my collection! I have gathered a GIANT bucket of candy to give out when the 31st gets here. I cannot wait because my brother (NittBro) is visiting then and he and I are going to hang out and play video games and hand out candy! And of course, we are going to record some reactions together!
