Hello, dear Patreon supporters! It's been a while, huh?

Introduction

It took much longer than we expected, but we can ultimately announce the beginning of the MEGAPATCH™ final development phase! Our $25+ Patreon supporters helped with our early implementation tests and have been kept up-to-date on the various changes. We are excited to be approaching the end of our list of planned features, and are ready to announce the release date!

If you don't know yet, the MEGAPATCH™  is a series of three large content additions to the game, and we are about to release the first part! In our estimation, we have only a few things to finish before the release.  

Detailed descriptions of individual MEGAPATCH™ parts

As we mentioned before - MEGAPATCH™ is going to be divided into three parts.

MEGAPATCH™ Part 1 - Includes a completely redesigned and reworked SCP-079 ("The Old AI"). This SCP was previously present in our game, but due both to its limited possible impact and criticism by players we decided to temporarily remove it. This is the most anticipated moment for all players who started their SCP:SL adventure during the game's premiere. This update will also include a revised weapon-modification system and a new gun —the USP! If you want to learn more about this update, please check out the previous post.

MEGAPATCH™ Part 2 - According to our plans, this should improve the old gameplay mechanics and rework some SCPs. This part will include a reworked model for SCP-096, possibly more MTF formations, a mechanical rework for some SCPs, and the inclusion of some SCP items. In general, this update won't add too many new features, but the changes will definitely be noticeable.

MEGAPATCH™ Part 3 - This entire description could consist of just two words: outside rework. Yes! We're going to rework the entire Surface Zone! The new area will be much larger and will include a lot of new gameplay mechanics. Within this zone, the C.A.S.S.I.E. control room will be set up. Expected ETA of the update

We intend to release Part 1 on the Saturday a week before Christmas (15 December 2018). Before the official publication, we are planning to organize many additional beta testing sessions for $25+ Patreon supporters. Due to the fact that we've achieved over 300 patrons, we've decided to replace the pre-release public open beta with a beta opening 2 days prior to the official release — available to every $5+ Patreon supporter! The current number of patrons will allow us to catch almost all new bugs and fix them within the 42-hour beta window.
