As you guys know, 2nd place in April's poll was Nahida, and this at first was not much of an issue for me until now...
Since she is "not like the others", I always wanted to ask if you guys were ok with this decision? Yeah, you guys voted for it which it should mean y'all really want it, but there's a bit of "Risk" you guys should know when it comes to these characters... mostly for me.
I'm not getting into the "It ain't real, it's fiction" or "she's a goddess so it's fine" kind of arguments since that's not the topic of this post (and they will be ignored if you try to bring them up).
The real issue here is this site itself, Patreon does not accept any sort of content that contains this sort of characters, It doesn't matter how much I try to make them NOT look like how they're intended to be, their posts would still get taken down and the page could be at risk.
Just to clarify, I feel OK to work with Nahida and other characters like her ONLY as Shortstacks, but if I want to make a post of them here, there will be some measures I have to take:
- There will be NO previews of the mod (at least not here), no matter how SFW they are, most I could bring is a close up of her face...
- The mod will stay paywalled, no early access, no public release.
- If Patreon requests me to delete the post, I will accept and the post will stay deleted with the mod. (If this ever happens, I'm not doing more Shortstack mods in the future).
This... doesn't sound that good honestly, which brings me to Plan B... Gumroad, In that site I can at least bring censored previews and exact offers and prices similar to here... I could even issue refunds for those who pay for the mod in there just to not make them 'pay twice for the month' if you know what I mean ;v;, this could honestly make things even safer, idk... but again, no public release for it.
I'll make a poll for you guys to vote and decide what's best for this kind of mods. I'll be working on Kuki for now while this goes on, I already planned to upload both Nahida and Kuki at the same time frame to prevent any sort of 'division' or 'backlash' ;v;
And if you have any suggestions or opinions related to this, please let me know~

The way I often see people do something like this is they use not very descriptive words on patreon to describe the thing that they're making then put it on the MEGA file sharing website whilst having the decryption key for MEGA here on patreon so you can do this in way possibly get it done without forsaking patreon ,nobody has to leave money paywall etc.

2023-04-20 21:39:02 +0000 UTCI already gave my two cents but I think it's clear enough from what everyone is saying, that the mod should be released on a different platform for those that want it and never mentioned again on Patreon shortly afterword. No sharing on mainstream websites, so no Twitter, No Gamebanana, no Discord. Users will only be in the know about it via word of mouth, so those who truly want it will have to make a conscience decision to seek it out. I still believe that Pixiv Fanbox will be your best bet, as I know users that create content similar to what your plans are with Nahida, and have no issues with the site. I don't know how Pixiv's monetization system is set up, though, so you might have to create it in the same way as your Patreon, and those sign up will most likely have to drop their support for you on Patreon and switch to Fanbox, and I don't know how that is going to affect your income given the Japanese Yen conversion rates + fees. Either way, though, I'm sure you'll make a sound decision.

Your mods so far have reached a lot of people and going that route publically is asking for some sort of controversy. My 10 cents is don't do it, but if you do and you really want to, you shouldn't put it on Patreon or Twitter. You should stick to the medium / tall body types for the supporters you've gathered thus far instead of throwing something volatile into the mix now.

2023-04-20 19:00:26 +0000 UTCHave you tried using discord? Like making one that’s link to patron subs so you can freely post previews there. I know for some running a discord is stressful but it helps with censorship. fansly and OF is another good alternative too, to promote your work safely.

Seen other artists draw thicc short characters on this site just fine and I doubt patreon looks up the default characters unless someone reports it out of spite.

The other is if you make a mod for Nahida that changes the whole look ( Shortstack Goblin, Gnome or so) that could work too i guess.

2023-04-20 05:43:55 +0000 UTCI second the use of Pixiv for previews, however do not upload it to GameBanana, the site moderators are known to be very heavy handed with any sort of sexual content, let alone this kind. If you were going to upload somewhere I'd say either here with no preview on this site or description of the character or on somewhere like Gumroad or SubscribeStar who are very lax when it comes to these sorts of things. That being said, as someone who voted for her in the poll, I'd want to at least see a flat chested version of Nahida as an alt, to keep in line with the BH theme. (Also you have my vote for an emergency food next poll lol)

If you really are okay with doing the mod and gumroad is what you want to do, then go for it, but I really don't want to see you get in trouble with Patreon.

Perhaps put a link to the gumroad in the patreon post, but put a discount code in the comments of that patreon post that gives a discount code for people who are paying for patreon sub? (No previews for either posts)

Might be something to consider as reports from overzealous people might lead to Patreon looking into these things.

2023-04-20 01:44:39 +0000 UTCHere are a few suggestions (sorry for long read): About showing previews, you can make an account on Pixiv and display images of your shortstack characters (or even your tall/medium sized heavy bottom characters), they are not strict as to what sort of content gets put there. People can also leave comments or suggestions there. Now about releasing the mod, I don't know how GameBanana would react to this release (or if they have a policy regarding the "appearance" of this release) but just release the mod only there without early access, I don't think people here would mind an exception for these types of characters since there are only 8 of them who can get this treatment, plus you are only doing it as a precaution to keep your Patreon safe, and chances of another shortstack are pretty low compared to other characters (maybe except emergency food lol).
