Thanks!! I'm glad I'll get an explanation that soon! :) I'm also glad I didn't misinterpret that scene. It was quick, but powerful. :)

I do harp on Haley not being her own character, but that's *because* it's only episode 05. lol I can only go off what I've seen and, (at this point, it hasn't been a well-rounded character. The writers are using her more as a plot device (again up to this point) and she deserves more than that. :) I've seen through episode 06 (which I LOVED) and I'm already seeing good character development with just about everyone. I did question in my comment about Peyton's dad. It doesn't surprise me that we haven't seen or heard anything about Brooke's parents and we've barely had anything with Brooke up to this point. I know she becomes a much bigger character, but she's had very little screentime so far. It's not that I'm more mad about Haley's lie than I am at how Nathan is using and manipulating her. I guess I just see it as to be expected from Nathan. He's a douche, doing a douche-y thing. lol I hold Haley up to a higher standard because they've presented her as a good and moral character so far. Which, honestly, might be fair of me. I get that. I'm glad you said you were enjoying the reactions, because I wasn't sure at first. lol I totally understand that not everyone is going to agree with my opinions and I also fully know that I've been pretty harsh on the show and the characters so far. So, I get it. :) I love me a good character or redemption arc. So, I'm honestly kind of glad that I dislike most of the characters in the beginning. It makes it all the more interesting and fun to see them, and my opinions of them, evolve over time. :) Also, thank you for the heads up about the title in the finale!!! I'm definitely be paying attention. :)

Yes, you interpreted the Nathan and Lucas scene correctly. Lucas wanted to take down Dan with Nathan because he's realizing Dan is terrible to BOTH of them. Nathan is not there. Nathan felt he had to do it on his own. While Nathan didn't reject his help they weren't really working together in the way Lucas suggested. It was more for Nathan. Nathan still sees this as his problem. Lucas is finally realizing maybe Nathan's life with Dan isn't so perfect after all. He was helping Nathan do what he needed to do. Baby steps 😊 He's a good big brother. I liked in that scene that Lucas did that for Nathan. But yes you are starting to see crumbs. Not your imagination. To answer your question about Lucas and Nathan's ages, Lucas is older because obv he met Karen before Deb. This all will be explained in epi 7:)

The reason for the title of the show will make sense. Pay attention to dialogue in the season 1 finale:) You'll know what I mean when you hear it.

You seem to harp on Haley not being her own character but it's only epi 5. You could say that about a lot of characters. Where are Brooke's parents. Where are Peyton's. At this point Lucas and Nathan are the mains and everyone else is supporting them. Don't worry they will all get fleshed out. Some better than others but they will. Imma need you to stop thinking of Haley as Lucas' sidekick and think of it as the beginning of a show lol. I can't handle the disrespect. I mean Haley had good intentions. She wanted Nathan to stop messing with Lucas. She knew he would be mad at her for talking to Nathan. Maybe she's not sorry because she's not sorry. Nathan is leaving him alone for the most part. Plus, she sees another side to Nathan. One who is just as affected by Dan and his brother. You seem more mad about Haley's lie for a good cause than what Nathan is doing to her. I mean Nathan is the reason she ever did it in the first place and his intentions definitely weren't good. Can we be just as mad about that lol. Btw, I do enjoy your reactions even if it sounds like I'm critiquing your critique. I'm here for the journey. These characters are kids so they will do dumb stuff but the joy comes from watching them learn from their mistakes and grow. Most of these characters (no not all, I'm looking at u Γ—Γ—Γ—Γ—Γ—Γ—Γ—Γ—Γ—) have such an amazing arc. I'm glad you have started this show!!! Btw you're liking who you're suppose to like atm. He's the narrator of the show. Nathan is the anti Lucas and the rest are side characters. You might never like everyone but you will probably have more ppl to root for as we go on in the season. This show is a roller coaster. Someone u hate now maybe someone u love later and vice versa

Oooohhh... so the "one" isn't supposed to be a number?! It's not like, "1 Tree Hill"?! I soooo did not get that. LOL Thanks for the clarification on that. (And, you're right... it is weird. lol) I'm so glad you're here for the critiques, but I'll have them. lol But, even with Supernatural and it being my all-time favorite show, there are still times when the writers make bad decisions or the characters are being annoying and I call that out too. Nothing is going to be perfect 100% of the time. However, I do also try to give credit where credit is due. :) The part about Whitey saying she had her mother's looks definitely dates the show. It's very cringey. And, also the fact that they went off the school property to have that second talk (like Peaches pointed out above) is very sketch and dates the show as well. But, like I think I said in the first reaction, I can't really judge the show based on my standards today. It wouldn't be fair. I guess I never really thought about the parents not being around because the ones that are are actually around quite a bit. But, now that you pointed it out... where is Haley's mom? I guess that kind of plays into her sole purpose up to this point being that she's Lucas's friend and not really her own character. Also, I do remember a scene where she left a message for her mom and and Lucas asked, "Was she drunk?" I'm pretty sure it had more to do with what Haley was saying in her message, but maybe she's just not the most involved parent. And, yeah... where is Peyton's dad?? She's going through some REAL shit (which, I guess he lost his wife so he's probably going through his own stuff, but still). She really needs someone she can go to (hence me saying she needs therapy lol).

another great reaction! one thing i always asked myself my first watch through was "where are their parents???" aside from karen and nathan's family (who do have their issues although at least they're there i suppose....) they're the only ones. these kids are having to face some very real, very adult emotions and navigate all that completely alone. i completely agree!!! i loved the talk at the graveyard personally. i thought it was so good but that talk on the bridge felt so forced and unncessary? they had a great talk already, the second talk seemed to take away from that. as much as i adore this show i can admit the writing can be messy. this is one of those cases. if they had their initial talk that would have been good. but then to take it to another talk and basically say the same things was weird. and the comment about petyon having her mother's looks.....yeesh lol and i adore whitey a lot but that line had me like "who thought that was okay?!?" lol it's funny because i'm in the camp that's super protective of these characters but when it comes to your reactions, i am so here for your critiques! it shows how engaged you are with the show and i know you said by ep 6 you get really into it but i can already feel you being affected by these characters. i always say this for the show, it makes you feel so many emotions. characters you genuinely do not like will pull at your heartstrings and make you think about them more deeply. it's something the show does really very well. no one is just left one deminsional. even side characters. and i really love that about one tree hill. oh, i don't remember if it was your reaction here or another that mentioned being confused by the title. it's supposed to said in like a passive way as like an example or hypothetical. like "you can find ___ in one austin texas" it's weird and i don't like it lol i would have preferred "tree hill" it just sounds better but what do i know lol
