For me this episode is one that I think gets remembered for its worst bits and people tend to forget about the rest. Definitely understand why some don't like it and the monster isn't great but I feel like this is also an episode that really isn't about the monster overall (and the contest that sparked the monster redeems it a little for me at least). Personally I just love the characters in this story, the chance to see how regular people are affected by the events from the show, and I also love the attempt at something a little different for the storytelling style in this one with the vlog style setup. And I think it was really interesting to see a bit more into Jackie as a character and how everything effects her. Overall it's not my favorite episode but I definitely like it a lot more than most people I think lol

A lot of people don’t like this one. I’ve always loved it. It’s weird, yeah. Sometimes I think it should take itself more seriously. But it’s a great character piece, an interesting and important look at life beyond the main things we see. It’s got emotional bits and funny bits and I think it’s great, just maybe some of the end is a bit… yeah.

I actually really like this episode. I think all the LINDA characters are really good, besides maybe Victor, and I really like how it handles the outside perspective on the Doctor. I feel like most people end up hating this episode because of the "absorbaloth", and maybe because they aren't expecting the Doctor and Rose to be out of most of the episode, and aren't really on board with that. But I don't really understand that. Like, we don't even see the monster until basically the end, and he only gets like 5 minutes of screen time. Even in his human form he doesn't have a ton of screen time. And yet for some reason, everyone lets that taint their image of the entire rest of the episode, and forget about all the good parts. I guess I've always just been good at looking past flaws in tv to enjoy the good parts. And I feel like there were a lot of good parts in this episode that really outweighed the bad. So for me, sure, I don't love the monster design, but I can easily put that aside and fully enjoy the episode.

I couldn't agree more!!

This episode was a strong "meh" for me. I think what the show did was sweet, and I totally get why they did it, I just wish the result was a little less campy.
