Let me give you a glimpse of the horror of becoming a Cyberman, so Brittany you love paranormal stuff and the Titanic……if you were to be upgraded, you’d lose EVERYTHING that makes you who you are AND the emotions while it happens so you don’t feel it

Jamie Dodds

I enjoy this story a lot (aside from Roger Loyd-Pack's ridiculous performance!); and,for Classic fans,it's packed with Easter Egg references to the Cybermen stories of the Classic era (for instance, the 'resistance' van has 'International Electromatics' on the side of it - a reference to a 2nd Doctor Cyber story). As Jamie intimates above, this was based on a BigFinish audio story; and, indeed, its writer Marc Platt is credited in this story - making him the first Classic Who writer to be involved and credited in the Revived series. In addition, this story's Director (Graeme Harpur) was also a very popular Classic Who director - making this the first Revived story to have been written (at least,in part) and directed by Classic Series veterans (and filled with Classic references).
