This is such a significant story for Who - the first other member of the Doctors (as yet unnamed) race, aside from Susan, history can be changed, the first post-Ian and Barbara story. And it’s a good one. Steven and Vicki make a really good Tardis team that, sadly, wasn’t given enough time to fully blossom. And now we enter the era of heavily missing stories

2022-10-06 12:59:18 +0000 UTCOn the topic of the Doctor being "snippy", I recall the original plot had to be reshot because the actor came across as too aggressive. I wonder if writers wrote him that way just because he was quite a grump often anyway. Vicki smiling while the Doctor was getting grumpy was a bit of a reflection of real life, as often the actress would stop the actors' tantrums by using a bit of humour and being cheeky towards him.
