WATCH ALONG | DOCTOR WHO | 3x13 | Last of the Time Lords

NOTICE/UPDATE: There are apparently two different versions of this episode; one released in the UK and one released at least in the US. There is a more detailed explanation in one of my comments below. The US version is missing quite a few scenes. I realize this will likely make it difficult for those outside the US to watch the watch-along version but, unfortunately, I am unable to do anything about it. I did have a member in Australia say they found the shortened version on a streaming service called Binge.

Wow I never realized there was a cut version of this. I'm in the US but got it on DVD and I must have the full version. There's over 5 minutes of missing footage apparently from the version you were using! And yeah I agree that this finale wasn't my favorite. I think it has some exciting/important things that happen: the Captain Jack/Face of Boe stuff, Martha saying goodbye, etc. and I love the chance to get to know the Master/see the interactions with the Doctor but especially the solution just feels a bit weird/surreal And lol- the Doctor definitely could use a therapist to travel with! lmao

This story really doesn't work for me, I'm sorry to say. Utopia is excellent and compelling; sound of Drums contains plenty of cringe, but includes enough interesting details to keep it watchable; Last of the Timelords is a damp squib, and really rather embarrassing (not least Simm's performance); while the Boe reveal feels tacked on and nonsensical. Of the three series Finales so far, for me this is considerably the weakest.

Update: I can't make any promises since I'll already be in a little bit of a time crunch after taking half of this week off to attend a convention, but I'm going to try to do the full edit of this episode sometime next week since most of you are likely going to have issues with the watch-along version.
