2023-01-16 08:24:53 +0000 UTCThe penny literally just dropped for me on River's speech about the time she will meet the doctor and he doesn't recognize her, and how she thinks it will be the death of her. I thought it was just Moffat trying to be clever and having River use a common phrase as a bit of foreshadowing (that we had already seen). But I just realized that River is actual applying logic here. If the Doctor doesn't recognize her then, then that means it's the last time they'll ever meet, since they are travelling backwards, his first time must equal her last time. She knows that she'll never stop looking for the Doctor, so the only possible reason for it would be that it's her death. Of course, they don't technically always meet in reverse order, it's a bit more wibbly wobbly than that which is why she "thinks" it will be the death of her.

It did not & still doesn't appear in π¬π§ This moment in time 2011 significantly marks a huge increase in popularity of Doctor Who especially in the US and was a contributing factor why for the first time production moved across the Atlantic to film there. Promotion of Who became bigger in America at this time with personal appearances by the cast on TV & in person with fan events.
