Comments

I know, I’m so far behind on watching your reactions, so you’ll probably never read back this far for comments on reactions this old. But, THIS is what I was hoping for from this reaction! You caught everything! You noticed the details. You noticed the effects, the music. The emotional scenes hit you hard. You noticed immediately that the Doctor was starting to lose it. And though I know you’ve watch another 6 series since you saw this, I loved that you said at this point that this is your favourite episode. It is for a lot of people. There is one Peter Capaldi episode that many people put as #1, but for me, nothing ever beat Waters of Mars. I love that you loved it! 🥰

I love this episode so much, Might even be my favourite because its so well done. The way the doctor becomes just as if not more scary than the actual monsters... Shows how scary the doctor as a villain would and can be.

This episode showed us the Doctor's breaking point. Everyone has one, his is losing people. Like you said, he just told Christina in the last episode, it hurts too much. And right afterward, he gets thrust into a situation where he's going to lose important people he just met, and he knows from minute 1 that he can't do anything to stop it. It simply broke him. So he tried anything, everything to change what he knew was coming, and became something terrifying in the process. Omnipotent AND unhinged. And I agree 100% about the characters, dialogue, pacing, cinematography, music, everything. Truly a masterpiece. I always rewatch this one when I go through NuWho. And it's even better on a rewatch, because you know what's coming, so watching the Doctor struggle through it hits even harder. As to the ending with Ood Sigma, I'll have more to say on a future video.
