The one little bit at the end... the only part of the reaction I watched. I really don't like this 2 parter, except for the ending! I'm too impatient to get to the good stuff next episode.

I’m really not a fan of this two parter. I can see some of what they were going for but it is so clumsily written. Most of the character are hard to get on board with except Jimmy’s stuff with his son which is the highlight of the episode. And I really dislike the character design of the flesh when they morph. But I love the next few episodes so I can’t wait.

I remember waiting for the next episode it was a LONGGG week

Doctorwhoinfinity (Dor Cohen)

I quite liked the different team dynamic on both sides. It shows how different the same person can be under different circumstances. With Jennifer, I think her whole deal came from being scared. She was quite a fearful person as a human, and then as flesh she has all the added memories of the times shes died as well as the strength to do something about it. And still so scared, so she's lashing out.

Rain

I agree that this two-parter is a long way to travel to get to the amazing final revelation, which tends to totally overshadow what came before it in the same way that the Silurian two-parter in the previous series was overshadowed by the appearance of the "crack in the universe" and Rory's death at the end. There's also a conflict between the aims of this individual story and the aims of the season arc plot which leads to an unfortunate confusion and loss of focus. It's absolutely necessary for the arc that the Doctor can dissolve the false Amy at the end without any ethical qualms about ending the life of a sentient being, and yet writer Matthew Graham has just spent two episodes telling us how Gangers Are People Too. He attempts to resolve this by treating the acquisition of free will and intelligence by this particular group of gangers as a freak, one-off occurrence -- but then muddies the waters considerably with all the stuff about discarded gangers being "left to rot, fully conscious", a plot strand which feels like it's wandered in from a different episode entirely. It was also annoying that the most provocative question arising from the whole situation -- what happens if two copies of the same person have to share one life? -- ends up being evaded, since the script carefully ensures that no more than one member of each human/ganger pair survives to the end.

Steven Cooper

Ohhhhh boy. Your reaction at the end was perfect when Amy dissolved. I was so confused when I saw this the first time. All I'll say is that there have been hints for many episodes leading to this, and I can't wait until you react to the next part of this "to be continued". In fact, you've inspired me to go watch it right now. 😁

David Blau

I'm very much looking forward to that explanation. lol

Haven't you learned by now how terrible my memory is for stuff like that? I can barely remember what happened yesterday, let alone one line from an episode I watched several months ago. lol That is interesting, though. I'm somewhere in the middle of the fandom on this one, apparently. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't overly like it either.

Britany Felix

they will explain when she was taken. I will explain further on that as well

Oh Britany, I'm sooo disappointed - you simply haven't been paying attention. At the start of this episode when the Doctor says "one day, I will get back" he is directly quoting the First Doctor at the beginning of his farewell speech to Susan from episode 6 of The Dalek Invasion of Earth. Get with it! (I will let you off the hook for not recognising the audio excerpt "Would lke a Jelly Baby?", as that is from a Classic story that you haven't watched yet) I seem to be alone among most of fandom for enjoying this two-parter more than any other story in Series 6. This is the one I most re-watch - which just goes to show how tastes differ. A classic base-under-siege horror/suspense story - just what I like in Who.
