Chris Chibnall has penned 4 episodes that you've seen as of now. 42, the episode with Martha and the living Sun in Series 3, the Silurian 2 Parter in Series 5 and now this one. There is one more episode of him this season and personally it's my favorite of his episodes as of this point. As for Dinosaurs on a Spaceship....well Brian Pond/Williams is lovely and there's some good campy humor.....but it's not a personal favorite. That said, any episode with 11 in it is a good watch in my book.

This is a marmite episode for sure but I really like it. Yes it's silly but it's like a guilty pleasure episode for me, it makes me laugh a lot. And I also find the dark undercurrent really interesting. Like you said, The Doctor isn't good when he's alone. And I think that plays into why he killed Soloman. We've seen The Doctor kill many times before but only ever when he's REALLY angry and I think his loneliness combined with his pain over what Solomon had done really tipped The Doctor over the edge. And in a weird way I like that, The Doctor has never been a perfect character. He preaches about kindness and not carrying weapons but yet he blows up Daleks and Cybermen constantly lol, he's a complex character with a tinge of darkness and that's what makes him interesting. As for what you said at the end of the episode, there have been hints at the arc of the second half of the series already but you haven't picked up on them at all. You will soon I'm sure. And when will you see River again? Spoilers. 👀😂

I was not in the best of moods when I started watching this. Your reaction to the lines "Brian do you have any vegetable matter in your trousers' "Just my balls" made me laugh hard & feel better. Thanks for that

This episode is written by Chris Chibnall, who was showrunner on series 11-13 and I know you have heard how generally disliked/divisive that era is. Overall, I don't think the shifts in tone in this episode work and feel super jarring with some of the most silly doctor who moments really cheapening some of the darkest idea that Who has attempted. Chibbs somehow manages to make genocide of an intelligent/sophisticated species not too impactful and the nonchalance with which the doctor murders Solomon just doesn't sit right. Good performances from the guest stars despite bad writing (classic Chibbs), particularly the legend that is David Bradley. Oh, and the comic robots are voiced by the brilliant comic double act Mitchell and Webb (I can't remeber if you have seen any of their stuff). Not one I tend to rewatch either.
